I would love for them to be together. But since they can't, all is left for me is to write about them. Hope you guys like it.

A Nocturnal Tale
Jon was writing letter replies when Alys surprised him, coming into his room. She had a shy smile on her face, and walked slowly, giving him the opportunity to send her away.
"Can't you sleep too, my lord?" she asked, sitting on the edge of his empty bed.
He smiled at her.
"Unfortunately, I don't have much time to sleep, my lady, even though I would love to."
She chuckled softly.
"I see. I would also want to sleep, but it seems like the old gods want me well awaken."
Jon indulged himself with a laugh.
Ghost rose from his sleeping spot and sat next to Alys, resting his nose on her lap. Alys tensed up with his approach, but relaxed when his red eyes met hers. Gaining more confidence, she caressed his head, to what Ghost closed his eyes, contently.
"Must be really nice to have such a companion." She said, smiling widely at Ghost.
"It sure is." Jon said. "But I can assure you he never behaves like this with me."
Alys chuckled.
"He was missing a bit of female companionship, weren't you, Ghost?"
If the wolf agreed, he didn't let any of them know.
"I'm sure he does."
Alys let her grey eyes fall on Jon, who hadn't stopped writing one second since she appeared uninvited.
"What about you, my lord? Don't you miss female companionship?"
Jon raised his eyes, and she was quick to divert hers, feeling her cheeks redden. What was wrong with her? Why had she asked such a thing to him?
"Not specifically, no." he answered softly. "There are only two females I miss dearly."
"Your sisters." She nodded.
He chuckled bitterly.
"One of them is my sister, yes."
Alys brought her eyes back to him.
"I'm sorry, my lord. I had no right to ask you that, I don't know what came over me."
Jon shrugged.
"It's alright. Would you like to hear about it?"
She nodded. The Jon Snow she had known was lonely and self-isolated, but this man in front of her… He was even lonelier. There was pain in his dark eyes, and if there was anything she could do to lighten his burden, she would give it a try.
"Before I became Lord Commander, I spend some time with the wildlings…"
Jon would never understand why he had told everything about Ygritte to Alys. However, he felt like he could trust her, and he really needed to tell someone, or all his feelings would soon drown him in eternal grief.
Alys listened to everything with endless interest. Such bittersweet love… it was moving, and tragic, just like the songs she had once loved to hear. She had never imagined someone could actually live such a love story. It gave her heart hope, it gave her mind the fantasy her hard life had destroyed for her.
"Thanks for telling me this, Jon."
"No, I should be the one thanking you, Alys."
She smiled to him and yawned. Without even noticing what she was doing, she lied in his bed, hugging Ghost as if he was nothing but a pillow of goose feathers. She was sound asleep in seconds.
Jon just smiled at the sweet scene. Too bad he wasn't allowed to marry anyone, because Alys surely was someone he would have liked to spend his life with. And, apparently, so would Ghost.
Letting go of such futile thoughts, Jon got back to his letters.
