Godslayer of Gen-Lock-1

~World of the Dead~

'…Huh?'

Scythe's eyes opened. He looked around to see that he was sinking into an ocean. His eyes wandered around alongside his body as masses of bubbles gently rose to the surface. Looking up to a light shining down against him, he used his arms to cover his sight.

'What is this? Am I still connected to the Tower?' He wondered. 'No, I'm no longer feeling pain… and this feeling. It seems… different somehow.'

As he floated in the space, the light suddenly became brighter, causing Scythe to shield his eyes. A moment later, he shot them open again with a gasp, only to see that he was somewhere else.

Looking himself over, he noticed that the sword wasn't on his back, and that he was wearing the same clothes he had worn since this whole mess began, all the tears in it gone as if they were never there to begin with. He glanced around, now noticing he was in a city, or rather, a familiar town.

'This is…Magnolia?' He asked. He then looked down, and gasped.

He then noticed that he was in the town's cemetery. The skies thundered with a loud roar as rain streamed down. Dark grey clouds swirl around the area, giving the place an awful atmosphere. He then looked down, noticing everyone from the guild. They wore black outfits, and that finally allowed him to figure it out.

'Oh… this is my…'

Looking at a statue in front of them, he instantly recognized the design. It was the Fairy Law symbol with his tribal Fairy Tail emblem, while Scythe sat in front of it in a meditative position, with Amaterasu's and Raijin's emblems on the back of his stone hands. On the base part, a large ankh was carved in, with a tombstone in front of it.

Scythe floated down to take a look, only for his face to darken…

Here lies our friend, and beloved child Scythe Strauss.

The newest member of Fairy Tail, the God of War, who joined with the Fairies in the year X784

May he rest in peace…

Scythe rubbed his head, sighing.

'Guess this is my funeral.' He stated with a low tone.

He then looked at Makarov, who was getting ready to say a speech. He took out a piece of paper, and began to read.

"Here lies a brave Fairy. Scythe Strauss has touched the hearts of many throughout the lands. Despite his small amount of time in Fairy Tail, he has shown us the true nature of being a family member." He began, holding back his tears by gritting his teeth. "His desire for justice to all that were good in this world was unparalleled, he used his magic for the benefit of others. Whether as a large warrior, a flaming toddler, a Godslayer, or a Celestial Knight, he had one thing: The heart of a Fairy." He then gave out, a single tear starting to come out. "We…will miss him." He then muttered, his body starting to tremble.

Scythe's eyes widened at the sight.

'Gramps…' He said, his mouth gaping with awe. He then looks behind the Fairies as the eight remaining Council members arrived.

The leader, the old man named Org, then stepped forward.

"This tragedy has left the hearts of many shattered. The connections that this young man made has drilled through our hearts as an empty seat has been made. Given that he may have been able to do great things if he lived, we have decided to honor him. The Council has voted to award this young man, and we are proud to announce, that Scythe Strauss is now an eternal member of the Ten Wizard Saints…" He finished with a bow. The other members bowed as well.

The members of Fairy Tail turned to the members of the Council, all of them frowning at their lack of sincerity to the situation. The young man then looked over to see Mira, his mother, who was standing in front of his grave. She placed roses in front of it while her face was stern with emotions. She wore a black dress and a black cap, with a matching hat a vale over her face, while Elfman stood behind her, a look of sadness mixed with anger across his face. Mira, along with everyone else, then gasped at the loud roaring of a certain fire sorcerer.

"Son of a bitch! No, I've had it!" He said angrily, pushing Mira out of the way and kicking the flowers over.

Scythe looked at him with surprise.

"Whoa." He blinked a few times. He then turned to Makarov.

"Natsu, what are you doing young man?!" He shouted with anger in his voice. Scythe knew he could get angry, but this felt different.

Lucy came up to him, trying to calm him down. Gray clicked his tongue as he tried to step forward, pissed off that the fire wielder was causing a scene. Everyone was then cut off by a loud punch.

Natsu was sent down to the ground as he felt the blow connect to his face. Everyone gasped at the sight, mostly surprised by the one who dealt the blow. Natsu sat up and rubbed his face. He then looked up, only to shudder in the sight of his attacker.

Mira stood above him, still having her fist balled up from the attack. She looked at him with her face shrouded by darkness. Natsu tried to get up and complain but then stopped as he looked up.

She was giving off a grimacing look as tears streamed down her face. It wasn't the usual fear that made Natsu shrink. This was an entirely different fear that caused him to gasp and back away, sensing her murderous aura.

"FACE REALITY NATSU!" Mira screamed, staring down at him. Tears began to fall down her face as she did so.

"But Scythe—" He stuttered, now sobbing as well.

"NO, HE'S GONE! We failed… there's no way to get him back now…" She then murmured. "I failed as a mother."

She then fell to her knees, covering her face with her hands as she broke down with sobs. Lucy and Gray helped her up. She let her cry into her shoulder as Gray covered her with his blazer, giving her looks of sympathy.

Scythe then put his hands in his pockets as he looked up, his face now full of sadness. It pained him to see them like this, especially his mother, so he averted his gaze.

'I thought I could save them…but all I did was make everyone sad again. Aw man, can't I ever do something good with my life… Damn it I can't even die right.' He grunted as he gritted his teeth.

He then blinked as another bright light flashed, blinding him yet again. As he opened his eyes once more, he gasped as he saw a soft feminine hand come down from the skies. Scythe couldn't help but stare at it as it came down, looking like some sort of divine presence. Slowly bringing his arm out, he touched the hand, causing it to shine and blind him once more…

~The Vanguard Base sometime later~

"Where did he come from?" A womanly voice questioned as Scythe began to regain consciousness.

"Don't know, it's as if he appeared out of nowhere in front of the base." Another voice exclaimed, only this time it was a man's voice. "We have to report this to the captain."

"Chase, he's just a boy, do you really think he could be a Union Spy?" The woman asked.

"Miranda, the captain will find out eventually, but when she does, she won't see him as just some kid. I mean look at him, he's ripped enough to put our strongest soldier to shame." Chase exclaimed.

"So? It doesn't mean he's a spy for the Union, it could mean he's had a rough life, and has had to do what he can to survive." Miranda exclaimed.

"Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry I jumped the gun." Chase sighed.

Scythe silently sat up and looked to where the two were talking, as he found himself in a medical bed. He turned towards them, crisscrossing his legs as he continued to listen to them talk, seeming a bit amused at what they were talking about.

The man, known as Chase, is a tall, athletic man with dark skin, amber eyes. He has a somewhat broad nose and dark brown hair. The left side of his hairline has blue luminous streaks of hair that act as futuristic tattoos, and a thin luminous blue line goes around sides of his hairline. His attire is a form-fitting suit worn by what Scythe assumed was the Vanguard military, which is in shades of blue, black and gray.

The woman, known as Miranda, is an adult woman with dark eyes, neck-length brown hair, and a heart-shaped face with a narrow chin. She is of athletic build, often wearing her Vanguard uniform over it. While the style of her uniform told Scythe that she was in a different faction of the Vanguard military than Chase. Breast Size: F-Cup.

"You're nervous about me meeting your mom and it's causing you to jump the gun huh?" Miranda asked gripping his arm gently.

"Yeah, you could say that." Chase sighed.

Things started to get a little more personal between the two and that's when Scythe decided to end their little scene.

"Ahem." Scythe stated, forcing them to look to him in embarrassment. "I hate to interrupt your little moment, but I don't really think that's appropriate behavior in front of a fourteen year old."

"Oh uh… how long have you been awake?" Miranda asked.

"Long enough to hear you talking about me and whether to tell your captain or not. But honestly, I think the smart thing to do would be to tell him or her, I don't know them so I don't know their gender, but if you don't tell them about me, then you might be court martialed."

"He makes a fair point." Miranda exclaimed.

"Why are you so eager to be turned in?" Chase questioned.

"I'm not. But I do know that in certain jobs, there are things you're rather not do, but you have to." Scythe exclaimed.

"Kid's smart. What's your name?" Miranda questioned.

"Scythe."

"Well it's nice to meet you Scythe, mind telling us where you came from, and how you found our base?" Chase questioned.

"Honestly? The last thing I remember clearly is see my own funeral before waking up here." Scythe exclaimed. "Actually, that's the only thing I remember, that and my name."

"Seeing your own funeral?" Miranda asked.

"I guess you could call it an out of body experience, only in this case, I was literally out of my body. I honestly have no idea how I'm still alive right now." Scythe explained.

"How exactly did you experience that out of body thing?" Miranda questioned.

"I think it had something to do with the bomb tower I disarmed." Scythe stated. "It went off, but the energy was just released, no explosion or anything."

"Hmm, I'm no scientist, but I think that might have given him amnesia." Chase stated. "But that still doesn't explain how he got to our base, which is supposed to be a secret."

"Maybe, the union just dumped his body thinking he was dead after disarming that tower bomb? Either way, he should stay here and get some rest." Miranda stated.

"I agree. But we've got some company." Chase said pointing to the glass door, as their captain was walking towards them.

"Commander Raquel." Miranda greeted as she stepped in a holographic man appearing behind her.

"I hope you two have a good excuse as to why you didn't report this to me immediately. A young boy found at the Anvil's doorstep, injured, but seems to be in perfect health." Commander Raquel exclaimed. "So explain."

"Well, we were hoping to question the boy before coming to you Commander. If we got anything out of him before coming to you, then it could give an edge. But it appears that was a waste of time." Chase exclaimed.

"How so? Because he's a teenager who's not in control of his hormones?" Raquel questioned.

"Because he appears to have amnesia." Miranda stated as Raquel looked at him and he just waved at her, with a nervous smile. "He says the only things he can remember is his name, and that he had an out of body experience, seeing his own funeral."

"I see." Raquel exclaimed looking intently at the boy with a raised eyebrow. "Well, so long as he's not a Union Spy, he is permitted to stay, he may even be allowed to take place in our recruitment program in a few years. But we will keep him here for a few days, for questioning and making sure he doesn't have any medical issues."

"Yes Commander. I think I might know a place he can stay at when he's permitted to leave." Chase exclaimed.

~2 days later in New York~

"One of my favorites though, is when Julian is about, oh, four years old, he comes in crying about his banged up knee. You would have thought that the world was ending the way he's carrying on. Now, I'm the type of mom, there's nothing that a little lovin' from the oven, can't help. So I give him a fresh cookie, and tell him it'll make his knee feel better."

Chase and Miranda were sitting across the island counter from Chase's mom, wearing their casual clothing, as they're listening to her tell an embarrassing story of Chase's childhood.

"Ma." Chase exclaimed.

"Oh no." Miranda giggles.

"Oh yes, I give him the cookie, and bless his little heart, he proceeds to rub it right on his knee." Chase's mom laughed.

"Mom, why?" Chase questioned, feeling embarrassed.

"Ma, it's not doing anything." His mom said repeating the words he said as a kid when he thought the cookie would make him feel better by rubbing it on his knee.

"Thanks ma." Chase said embarrassed. 'I'm starting to rethink my question for her.'

As the song in the back ground played, Miranda took his hand and smiled.

"Let the good times roll." Chase sang. "It was my dad's favorite song."

"Oh Julian, cut me some slack, news these days, gotta have my fun somewhere." Roberta exclaimed. "Dri." She called her daughter holding up two plates of food.

"Oh, damn ma, you are killing me with this." Chase exclaimed as Roberta was holding his favorite dish.

"You're always welcome to come home and eat with us." Roberta stated putting the two dishes on the table.

"You know how hardcore they're getting about leave these days." Chase exclaimed.

"MmHmm."

"Ms. Chase that looks amazing." Miranda stated.

"Well thank you." Roberta smiled. "Dri, now."

In the living room, her daughter was waving in front of a screen as she was a popstar idol with her fans that were watching her stream, as she began singing.

"They taking care of you two okay down there?" Roberta questioned. "You look like you could use a good meal."

"If we had food this nice at the base, we wouldn't fit in our uniforms." Miranda smiled.

Roberta laughed before she forcefully turned off the live stream and switched to the news, much to her daughter's displeasure.

"Mom, I was live." Dri complained.

"Come meet Miranda honey." Roberta stated.

"But my adoring fans ma, adoring fans?" Dri said, as if asking her mother if she even understood that concept.

"They adore your grades this semester?" Chase asked as Dri sat down. "Or do you get extra credit for live streaming?"

"Exactly what do you see in him?" Dri questioned Miranda.

"Sometimes I ask myself the same thing." Miranda stated before Dri interrupted her.

"Actually let's talk about you. So where you from, where do you see yourself in five years, and would you have a problem with letting your adorable sister-in-law, stay with you whenever she wants?" Dri questioned.

"Wait what?" Chase asked.

"Well that presumes I'd ever want to marry him." Miranda stated.

"Wait what?" Chase asked again.

"But it's not out of the question." Miranda smiled.

"Uhh…"

"See my set up there?" Dri questioned. "You're welcome."

"One normal visit, just one, that's all I wanted, and here you are forming alliances." Chase exclaimed.

"We should let you eat." Miranda said standing up.

"Ms. Chase, Driana, it was wonderful to meet you." Miranda smiled.

"I know." Dri smiled.

"Likewise dear. Next time you two have leave, let's do this for real." Roberta smiled standing up.

"Then we'll really gang up on him." Dri smiled as they fist pumped, her fist passing through Miranda's as she was there as a hologram.

"Deal." Miranda stated. "Night all."

Miranda disappeared, and Roberta sat back down, leaving the song to play as the three sitting there were silent.

"So?" Chase asked.

"She's too good for you." Dri smiled pointing her fork at him.

"Oh I know."

"I like her, I like seeing you smile. Been too long, now go, or she's going to wonder if we're talking about her." Roberta smiled.

"We are talking about her." Dri exclaimed.

"Before I go, there's one thing I need to talk to you about." Chase exclaimed.

"Oh my, you're not thinking of actually proposing to her are you? If you are I was too late with my set up." Dri exclaimed.

"No, it's nothing like that, I'm actually needing to talk with Ma, about something important. I need your help." Chase exclaimed.

"What's on your mind honey?"

"Well, this isn't easy to say, but… there's someone who needs a home, and he's only fourteen, not old enough to legally leave his parents, and he was found in front of the base." Chase exclaimed.

"So why doesn't he go back to his parents if he's a run away?" Dri questioned drinking form her cup.

"He's not a runaway, he's an orphan." Chase said, causing his sister to spit take, and feel bad about what she said.

"Now I feel like a total jerk." Dri sighed cleaning up her mess.

"What happened with him sweetie?" Roberta questioned.

"We believe the Union killed his parents, and tried to kill him as well, but failed." Chase stated.

"Can you be sure?"

"I don't know. He has amnesia, the only thing he remembers is his name, and seeing his own funeral from an out of body perspective." Chase stated. "It's been two days since he was brought in for medical treatment, he remembers a few things here and there, but nothing of significance."

"He's cleared and not a Union Spy?" Dri asked.

"No, he's just confused, and he hides it well, but he's scared to. We think he subconsciously knows he's an orphan, and that traumatic event is what caused his amnesia, to try and forget the experience. It would take another event on a large scale magnitude to trigger the memories again." Chase exclaimed.

"If that young man is needing a home, then he's more than welcome to be here. He can have your old room." Roberta smiled. "I'm glad you're thinking of others before yourself."

"Thank you mom. I gotta go now, Miranda is probably wondering where I am." Chase smiled standing up. "I'm out. I'll say hey this weekend alright?"

"Love you." Roberta smiled as Chase's holographic form kissed her cheek.

"Love you." Chase said back. Chase stood back up and looked at his sister. "Yeah."

"Uh-huh."

Chase smiled and winked before disappearing, causing Dri to scoff and roll her eyes.

~Back at the Anvil~

Chase leaned forward and pressed the side of his headgear, removing it as he pinched the bridge of his nose, Miranda leaning down looking at him in the eye.

"Did I pass?" Miranda asked.

"Flying colors." Chase smiled.

"What do I win?"

"Me."

"Yes." Miranda smiled.

"So you had fun?" Chase questioned standing up.

"MmHmm."

"Good, so for the next one of these, I look forward to your mom telling me all your embarrassing stories." Chase said walking off.

"Hey. Hey, hey, hey, that's not how this works." Miranda said chasing after him.

Out in the hall, we see three men, and our favorite protagonist standing around, chatting it up.

"Fly boy's alone. Told you that'd crash and burn." A tan skinned man with a mustache and an engineer's uniform, stated as Chase stood next to him.

"You got a wrench that'll fix my dignity?"

"Slumming with us lowly walkers? Oh man how Icarus has fallen." A brown haired pale skinned man stated.

"What does that make me, Hercules after his fall from fame?" Scythe questioned.

"Hercules?" Chase asked.

"This kid's really into mythology, lore, all of it, and he's even strong enough to break all the world records." Jodie stated.

"Hey if Miranda dumped you, do we got time for a game of Siege?" Miguel asked.

"Hey uh, if Miranda dumped you then…"

"Then what?" Miranda asked.

"Then that would be tragic, and we should mourn the death of your relationship from a respectable distance." Jodie exclaimed catching himself.

"Smart boy."

"Real smooth save there man." Scythe chuckled shaking his head.

"What's this about a game?" Miranda questioned.

"Siege." Miguel stated.

"Sorry fellas. My queen summons me." Chase exclaimed.

"So, no Siege?" Miguel asked, in which Chase shook his head in response.

"Oh." Miguel grumbled as the two soldiers and engineer began walking off, Scythe staying behind with Miranda and Chase.

"Good news Scythe. I have talked it over with my mom, and she has agreed to take you in." Chase smiled.

"When was this?" Miranda asked. "Wait, don't tell me, after I left?"

"Yep."

"So, I'll be leaving the base?" Scythe asked.

"Afraid so pal." Miranda sighed. "It's a real shame to, we were just starting to get used to your company."

"You don't seem too thrilled about it." Chase exclaimed noticing Scythe's expression.

"No I'm grateful for it, but… this place is the only place I've known since I lost my memories, so…"

"I get it, you feel comfortable with being here than instead of at someone's house you don't know." Miranda smiled softly. "But you can't stay here, this is a military base, not a daycare or a high school."

"Alright, I guess I'll go pack what little stuff I have." Scythe sighed walking off.

"What do you think? Meet you know where in about thirty?" Chase asked after Scythe was out of sight.

"They haven't ordered us to stop yet." Miranda stated.

"My girl." Chase smiled as they leaned in for a kiss, only for them to be interrupted by the alarms blaring. "C'mon be a drill."

"How'd the song go? You only live but once?" Miranda questioned.

"Let the good times roll." Chase smiled before they went in for a full lip lock.

After their kiss, they went off for their designated areas, to gear up and prepare for battle. While up in the office, Commander Raquel was busy looking things over on the monitors and strategizing battles.

"Listen up. This is it. Union's making their play. This is not a skirmish, this is not airspace confusion, this is not a terrorist action; this is how the war begins. Interceptors continue your vector East, North-East, destination, New York."

"Commander." Scythe shouted rushing into the command room.

"Multiple large bogies, detected. All forces are weapons free. Be aware capture mother bases have already started to engage, but to no effect. We're detecting some sort of anomaly over the area. Could be biohazard, could be something else." Commander Raquel stated as multiple large screens popped up, revealing the damage the strange smoke was doing. "That means until we know more, containment protocols apply. Sending units specific priorities now."

Scythe's eyes widened in horror at the damage being done, and ran out of there. For some reason, he felt compelled to run up to the roof of the base, which is where he found himself, looking over the edge of the Anvil base, standing there for a minute before he heard the door open and someone else joined him on the roof.

"What are you doing up here kid?" Miguel questioned.

"How'd you know I was up here?"

"I saw you heading for the stairs, the ones that went straight up here. What are you doing?" Miguel questioned.

"I don't know. But for some reason, I feel like something's telling me to jump, and it'll be alright." Scythe stated.

"Trust me kid, the only thing that will happen is you becoming cement pizza. C'mon let's go back inside." Miguel stated inching towards him.

Scythe turned around with a smile on his face, the back of his feet over the edge.

"The docs said that another traumatic event might bring up my memories right?" Scythe questioned.

"Yeah, but trust me, doing this, you won't even remember how to be alive." Miguel stated.

"I'll see you on the other side." Scythe exclaimed raising his arms, and falling backwards.

"NO." Miguel shouted rushing to the edge.

Scythe began falling, his heart pounding while his eyes were closed, and a soft smile on his face.

"Remember. Who. You. Are." A woman's voice echoed in his head.

Scythe's eyes snapped open, and he held his arms close to his side, before positioning himself with his head down. All of his memories returning to him.

"I remember now." Scythe smiled as his body began to be enveloped in light. "I am Fairy Tail's God of War. Thank you, Amaterasu."

Scythe was nothing but a bullet of light now. Mere milliseconds before making an impact with the ground, Scythe straightened himself, and flew along the ground, nabbing a spare pilot's helmet on the way, off a crate, before launching into the air, flying after the team, a bullet of light traveling fast, and breaking the sound barrier. All the while Miguel was baffled, having seen Scythe become enveloped in light before flying off.

"What the hell?" Miguel questioned.

~New York~

"All wings, Bravo6 maneuver on…"

"Swarm incoming."

The flight team began to scatter as the Unions own flight team were in for a head on collision with them. Evading their attacks, and giving off their own.

"Drones, evade, evade."

All the Anvil Interceptors began to fly off, trying to chase off the drones chasing them, and firing at them. Some of them getting hit and dying in the explosions.

"All wings engage, interceptors 3 and 4, take bogies 2:O-clock Angel six, Interceptor 2 on me." The commanding officer stated as they engaged. "We're hitting the floor."

As they began flying off, the missiles gave chase, being heat seeking missiles, before one of them exploded from a ball of fire hitting it.

"Need a hand?" Chase heard over the intercom.

"Scythe, you're flying a jet?" Chase questioned.

"Not exactly. Look to your right." Scythe stated.

Chase looked to his right and saw what he thought was impossible, he thought his mind had to have been playing tricks on him. Beside his jet, he saw a young man flying with a pair of bat like wings, looking like he came out of a manga. His helmet looked like Anvil issued, only it looked like it was black and had a couple of curved horns on the head, with the glass of the helmet deeply tinted.

"Hey man, I got my memories back." Scythe stated, sounding like he was smiling under the helmet.

"How the hell are you keeping up with my jet?" Chase asked. "Scratch that, how the hell are you flying without a jet?"

"I'll explain later, right now, I'm going to take care of the missiles." Scythe exclaimed.

"No, take care of the tanks down below, something tells me the citizens need you more than the air-force does." Chase stated.

"You sure you can handle it?"

"Of course."

"Alright, but if you die, I'm so going to kill you." Scythe exclaimed before he barrel rolled and dove down to the ground.

Upon reaching down below, Scythe saw two transports beginning to take off, and saw a tank aiming to bring them down. Acting fast, Scythe folded up his wings and dive bombed before spreading his wings, and taking the hit meant for the transport, mere seconds before it made impact.

"Go now." Scythe shouted to the transport driver before turning around, facing the tank and the union soldiers.

Folding in his wings, Scythe fell to the ground, creating a small crater as he landed.

"Superhero landing." Someone shouted, seeing the position he was in after the dust settled.

Scythe stood up on both feet, stepping forward, running to each of the union foot soldiers slamming his fist into their weapons, shattering them, or breaking them in half, before knocking them down.

Upon reaching the tank, Scythe jumped up and grabbed it by the launch nozzle, before pulling down hard, and flipping it over, cracking the ground beneath. Tearing the nozzle off, Scythe used it as a club and slammed all the legs of it off, before impaling it through the underbelly of the tank, causing it to explode.

"One down." Scythe exclaimed before he was sent flying forward by something hitting him in the back. He picked himself up, and turned to see two more tanks, and a lot more foot soldiers, accompanied by several armed drones. "Two more to go, plus the drones and foot soldiers."

One of the drones launched a missile at Scythe, and he caught it in his hands, just as the walkers from Anvil made their way onto the scene.

"Who the hell is he?" Miranda questioned.

"Who cares? As long as he's on our side." Jodie stated advancing.

As he was advancing, the missile Scythe was holding, exploded, causing several walker pilots to lose heart.

"No one could survive a point blank range missile explosion." Leon exclaimed.

"Don't count me out just yet."

All their eyes widened hearing that voice, and looked up just as the smoke cleared, Scythe stepping out of it the helmet cracked a bit on the glass.

"Union is doing this right? Then I guess we're just gonna have to fight back." Scythe exclaimed running for Union, disarming and taking down all the foot soldiers in his path before he was sent skidding back by another missile, and detonated it, devouring the explosion, before spreading his wings, again and taking in a deep breath. "Lightning-Flame-Deity: Divine Bellow."

Letting loose the roar of the elements, the crimson red and royal blue elements, spun like a drill head, making impact with the remaining tanks, and drones, destroying them, and their drivers.

"Let this be a lesson for you." Scythe growled as he tossed away his destroyed helmet revealing his eyes to be reptilian with the whisker markings on his face thicker and more menacing looking. "Piss of a god, you face their wrath. Especially if it's a God of War."

Scythe stood tall, panting as he used more energy than he wanted to in that breath attack, which it in itself surprised the three walker pilots. Even more so when he turned to look at them, seeing his face.

"Scythe?" Miranda asked.

"Good to see you to." Scythe smiled before his senses kicked in.

Turning around, Scythe lurched forward, as he was stabbed in the side with a knife, by one of the foot soldiers who got back up.

"Die, you freak."

The knife was pulled out, causing more damage as the blade was serrated. Scythe fell to his knees clutching his side, just as the dark cloud of death began to surround him.

"Scythe run, that Nano-Tech will destroy you from the inside out if any of it gets in your wound." Miranda shouted.

Scythe tried to stand up, before falling back to his knees, already feeling the Nano-Tech entering his body through his wound.

"Made of metal?" Scythe questioned before smiling. "Perfect."

As the Nano-Tech created a dome over Scythe, Miranda stared in horror, before a light shined through it, and the Nanites stopped swarming around him, as he spread his wings. The Nanites began to cling to the wings, before turning red, merging and melting, covering the bone parts of his wings, giving it a more mechanical look, as the rest dissipated falling to the ground, lifeless and deprogramed.

"Thanks for the patch work." Scythe smiled as the wound in his side was sealed up with the metal. The ground shook, and Scythe turned to the source of the quaking and saw an impossibly large traveling base.

"What the hell is that thing?" Leon exclaimed.

"I'd say a mobile base." Scythe exclaimed before taking off. "I'm going to help Chase."

Flying as fast as he could, Scythe made his way to the air strikes, seeing how Nano-Tech was used the shield against the missiles.

"What the hell are we going to do against that?" Scythe questioned before he noticed one of the jets charging up a special missile. "An EMP?"

Before anything else could happen, the jet was shot down, and exploded due to the EMP missile being hit.

"Chase only has one missile. Never thought I'd be so glad to memorize a lesson from Miguel on the weapons and cargo of the jets." Scythe exclaimed. "I'll provide cover for him."

Scythe began to follow chase, deflecting any attacks that might come to his jet, before the missile was sent off, hitting the mobile base, shutting everything down within the range of the missile's attack.

"Crap, Chase's eject isn't working, and his jet's covered in Nanites." Scythe exclaimed rushing to help, only to get shot in the wing, landing on the hood of Chase's jet, surprising him. "What the hell? All machinery should be dead, who and what shot me?" Scythe questioned before noticing a sniper on a nearby roof, one with a normal hunting rifle. "Damn it. Worst birthday ever." Scythe growled, before the jet went down, crashing in the middle of downtown.

In the walker squad, Miranda was staring in horror out the window of her walker, seeing the smoke from the crash, and to her horror, she saw both Scythe and Chase caught up in the crash, right in the heart of the Nanite storm.

~Four Years Later~

All was normal at the Anvil base, but it was not a happy time, as the names and faces of those who died in this war, crowded the Memorial Wall. One of them being of Julian Chase, and another being of Scythe, the mug shot they took of him for his medical record.

Miranda was walking past the wall, stopping as she got a notification, requesting her to be at the hanger bay, to guide the new recruits coming in. Upon entering the hanger, Miranda walked to her walker, where Miguel was working on it. His tattoos filled out completely instead of just out lined like they were four years ago.

"You know we got a sortie soon right?" Miranda asked.

"Yeah, yeah." Miguel stated.

"You know it has to work right?"

"I ever let you down?"

"Well, you let the boy I started to see as a little brother, for the two days he was here, fly off to his death." Miranda stated.

"I was trying to stop him from jumping off the building, I thought he was gonna commit suicide, how do you expect me to react to the fact he could fly without any mechanical assistance?" Miguel questioned.

Miranda put a part she was toying with down, before walking to the open bay doors.

"Morning sunshine. You got time for some uh, coffee before rounds?" Jodie questioned stepping up next to her.

"Good morning to you to, and no, apparently I've earned the distinct privilege of babysitting some rookies." Miranda stated.

"Huh, lucky them." Jodie sighed as the transport came in. "I would have given anything for a babysitter like you when I was a kid."

As they continued to talk, the transport landed, to which the doors opened after Miranda told Jodie to bug out. From the transport came a man with grey hair, a Middle Eastern woman with short black hair, and an eight foot tall mechanical robot with four eyes.

"Dr. Weller, I presume?" Miranda questioned as he came down. "Welcome to the Anvil. I'm Lieutenant Worth. I'm assigned…"

"Yes charmed, Dr. Rufus Weller, E.S.U. No Colonel?" Dr. Weller questioned.

"I'm sure she's looking forward to welcoming you." Miranda stated. "Matter of fact, we have a briefing with her coming up, but as I said I'll be…"

"Well no time like the present. Take me to your leader. Always wanted to say that right." Weller smiled turning to his companions.

"Okay, then we'll just do the tour on the way." Miranda stated. "Do you have any gear you need to stow?"

"Oh, just a few things." Weller stated as the transport took off, revealing six large trucks coming into the hanger.

~Past the Memorial Wall~

"Okay, I've added authorized areas to your maps, and that's my I.D, you can use that to message me if you need anything. Up here is mission briefing, which should be about to start, any questions?"

"How are you?" Weller asked.

"Excuse me?" Miranda asked.

"If you don't mind my asking, I'm very curious about the state of your battalion." Weller stated. "What you've managed to do, it's one of the reasons we're here; we're a research team. Trying to come up to speed on how you fight, what works, what doesn't?"

"What we've managed to do is hold the line." Miranda stated. "That's about it."

"You are the shield. Without you, all hope would have already been lost." Dr. Weller's companion stated. "Perhaps you just need a better sword."

"Sorry we didn't get introduced. Miranda Worth." Miranda stated.

"I've heard much about you."

"Oh curse my manners." Dr. Weller said stepping between them. "This is Ms. Madrani, also a pilot."

"Really?" Miranda questioned before the 'Briefing in Progress' sign popped up.

"Right oh, in we go." Dr. Weller stated.

As they entered Yasamin was looking at Chase and Scythe's plaques, before joining the others.

"So what do you fly?" Miranda asked as she passed through the doors. "I didn't see any…"

Her questioning was stopped when the briefing was called to order.

"This mission has been designated, operation Coyote. With the Union accelerating their push West, in recent months, there's been an increase in the number of refuges heading our way. Recon has confirmed a new stop on the Underground Railroad, closer to us than ever before. Nearly thirty men, women, and children, are just a few miles the other side of the 88th." Colonel Raquel explained. "They've taken great risks, sacrificed much in order to make their exodus from union territory. We're going to get them the rest of the way home." She continued. "One last thing. We got guests watching today, so be on your best behavior." She stated pointing out Dr. Weller, Yasamin, and the robot as two out of the three waved. "Be safe, but not too safe. Get it done Vanguard."

~Three hours later~

"Hah, another border run." Jodie sighed. "This'll go well."

"Try to stay positive." Miranda stated through the communicator screen.

"Okay, with the border getting closer every day at least it's a shorter commute?" Jodie said, in a questioning manner.

"This area's as good as it gets." Miranda stated. "No cities just an empty space in the middle of nowhere."

"Yeah, they will literally see us coming a mile away." Jodie exclaimed.

"Do you have any idea, what it took for these people to make it this far?" Miranda questioned.

"Oh for the love of, shut up both of you." Leon stated. "It's game on."

"Green smoke hot, Razor one, moving in for pick up." The pilot of the transport stated.

As the refugees began to move towards the transports, one of them was shot, scaring the refugees, as they backed up.

"LC is hot, we're under heavy fire." One of the transport pilots stated.

"Ranger one is down, raise your shields to engage." The second pilot stated before the second transport began firing round after round at the enemy.

In turn the Unions upgraded tanks came out and retaliated to their cover fire, knocking them back down.

"Tanks, they brought tanks." The second pilot shouted as they went down.

"Alright they're mechanized hornbills bringing us around." Leon stated. "Striders stand by for drop."

"I hate it when I'm right." Jodie exclaimed, to which Miranda just rolled her eyes.

As the tanks from Union destroyed the last transport ship, they began firing on the Striders/Walkers, cargo ship, before the Striders unlatched the magnetic hold that held them, landing on the ground with a large thud as they began to fire upon the Union.

"Alright here we go." Jodie stated charging forward in his Strider before it was damaged, and he fell over on his side. "Eh okay, lucky shot."

Leon glared before going over to help his fallen comrade, while Miranda went to deal with the other tank. Thankfully there was a backup transport incase this happened, and Miranda saw from her rear camera, that the last of the refugees were just loading up onto the transport.

She continued to defend the transport, getting hit time, and time again, unaware of what was circling around in the air, before it began to drop like bomb in an air strike.

"Screw it. You only live once." Miranda said as she saw her systems were damaged, but still chose to fight.

"Let the good times roll, am I right?" A familiar voice she hadn't heard in four years, asked to her surprise.

"What?" Miranda questioned before the tank she was fighting against was suddenly crushed, flattened to the ground, by someone doing the superhero landing, and his wings spread out, as his face was covered by a mask.

"Hey Miranda." Scythe smiled looking at the walker, smiling under the mask. "Long time no see."

A/N: Hey everyone, F.M.D here. I'm a huge fan of Gen-Lock, and I just had to do a crossover of it, but I didn't know how to start it, until I had an idea, part of Chapter13 of Mama Mirajane.

I hope you all enjoyed the first chapter, and I'll be out soon with the second one.

F.M.D: Signing out.
