Chapter Juan

His thumb rubbed circles onto the back of her hand as he held it, looking deeply into Naza's retinas. Her cheeks were flushed as she smiled fondly at Inseong. Just as he was about to lean in for a sweet, tender kiss, he paused.

"You're gonna be late to your class, pendeja", he exclaimed.

"Huh", she asked, confusion written all over her face.

"YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE TO CLASS. GET UP!"

Naza shot up from the bed. Her eyes were wide at the sudden voice. She felt disappointment wash over her when she realized it was all just a dream… It wasn't Inseong calling out to her. It was her roommate, Mena, standing at her door with her arms crossed over her chest.

"Don't make me get the bucket", Mena threatened.

Naza shook her head aggressively. There was no way in hell that was going to happen again! She rushed through her morning routine and hopped on the bus with her roomy, already wishing the day was over.

That feeling only intensified when he stepped into the bus…

Those full lips, bronzed skin, and luscious chocolate brown hair. Inseong, Naza's crush, was gorgeous. She couldn't help but stare as he looked around for a seat. The bus was packed. Just then, Mena smirked and offered her seat to him, the one right next to Naza. She shot her a knowing look before stepping to the side and letting him sit. He smiled at Naza. She was too busy contemplating Mena's murder as he sat beside her. She was as stiff as a rock, looking everywhere but him.

Naza found it very hard when ignore the boy beside them when he was staring. Boy, did he have a staring problem! They sat there awkwardly until she found the courage to speak up.

"Uh… Can I help you with something?" She hoped he wouldn't notice that she was as red as a tomato.

The question broke his train of thought. "Oh, I'm sorry. It's just… You look so familiar! Wait…" He inspected her face closely. Naza was a mix between confused, annoyed, and shy. Mostly annoyed.

"Well, we did have English together last semester", she said as she leaned away. Her personal bubble was ready to pop.

He gasped, coming to a realization. "I remember now! You're… You're the girl of my dreams", he said sheepishly.

Naza turned to face him. Her cheeks were still red, but this time, she had a smile on her face too. "REALLY", she screamed. She didn't mean to raise her voice, but she was too shocked.

"Yes, really…" He hesitated before he stood up from his seat, leaning down onto one knee. "Listen, I'm an old fashioned guy. I didn't want to rush, but I've been waiting for you my whole life. I have to ask…" He took her hand in his as he spoke. "W-will you marry me?"

Naza couldn't hear the people on the bus gasping at the sudden proposal, or Mena groaning in annoyance. They didn't need to think twice about their answer.

"Yes, yes! I will marry you!"

Everyone on the bus cheered for the heterosexuals with the exception of one person. Mena just rolled her eyes and hopped off the bus. "You two can be late together, I have a test today."
