AmyRose to the Rescue!

"Hi there, SONIC!" Amy sweetly purred.

"Ah! Er, hi. And bye." Sonic ran off. "I have to… patrol. For robots and stuff, you know. See you... maybe." He fled. Sonic was always nervous around Amy. She was always in the back of his head, always lurked in his dreams. He glanced around the Great Forest. No robots. He climbed up a tree and scanned for enemies. No robots. Sonic began to ponder when he should tell Amy how strongly he felt about her. He ran around the Great Forest. Huh. Still no robots. So he went back to Knothole. Robots! He zipped about desperately trying to prevent the 'bots from wrecking his home. Robotnik had already destroyed his first home when he started his grand conquest. He lunged forward madly punching at one robot, but as he defeated that one, another one shot a (relatively) weak laser at his back. At the time, however, Sonic did not appreciate its weakness. "Arrrrrrg!" he wailed, turning around to smash the machine. He was soon surrounded. Just then, Amy burst into the area.

"NOOOOOOOO!" Amy screeched. "No one smashes MY Sonny!" She brought down her hammer on one of the robots heads with all off her might. The robot, to Sonic's surprise, seemed to notice Amy's blow. It turned its head slightly to glance at Amy before turning back to Sonic. "Hiiiii-umph!" Amy yelled as she tried to punch an egg pawn. "Nooo! I broke a nail! SOOOOOOONIIC! Rescue MEEEEE!" Amy began screaming and sobbing. Robots closed in on Sonic. "WhooOOOooops!" Amy tripped in front of the robots. All of the weapons smashed against Amy's head. The weapons snapped in two. The robots, now defenseless, scurried off.

"Wow, Amy," said Sonic. "You must have a very thick skull."

"Boo-hoo… Soniiiiiiiic... owie."

"Amy, I have to tell you something," Sonic said.

"Ohhh, Sonny! You told me to meet you here by the gorge… And I just noticed how romantic this spot is!"

Sonic blinked, confused. "But… It's just a colossal rocky hole. How can a hole be romantic?"

"It's romantic because you're here."

"Er, okay, whatever... But what I want to tell you is-"

"Ooooh, tell me! What is it? I cannot wait, and I just wanna know what it is, 'cause, I mean, I wanna know so badly, you see, and-"

"Then why don't you let me tell you? I just need to say ask… Will you-"

"OOOOH SONNY YES YES I LOVE YOU AND I'LL MARRY YOU AND I KNEW YOU WERE GONNA ASK AND I'M SO HAPPY AND-"

"AMY! I wasn't going to ask you that!"

"MY DRESS IS GONNA BE WHITE AND COVERED WITH DIAMONDS AND I'LL WEAR CHOAS EMERALDS FOR EARRINGS! I'LL TELL EVERYONE THAT WE'RE-"

"THAT WE'RE NOT GETTING MARRIED!"

"wha- what?"

"I was going to ask; 'Will you lay off for a while?'. You're obsessive. And annoying."

"I-I-I-I… Oh… I…" Amy brightened up. "Then I'll fight you! And if I win, I'll marry you!"

"Huh? A-Amy! The world doesn't work that way! Amy?" A bizarre grin spread across Amy's face. Her eyes narrowed.

"Hi-YAH!" Amy's hammer swung at Sonic. The blue hedgehog jumped back. Amy kept on swinging madly. Sonic struck Amy with a massive kick… knocking her into the gorge. "Eeeeeeek!" The pink hedgehog fell, fell, fell, until she landed, motionless, at the bottom. The full weight of what Sonic had done struck him.

"No… I can't believe I did something so… so… despicable." Sonic nervously glanced over the edge of the gorge. His worst fears were confirmed. He had… caused erosion.
