Disclaimer: I do not own Degrassi.
Author's Note: This is my very first fanfiction, I don't know how to judge it. Be kind, but helpful. Thanks for reading. Bold words outside of the A/N are journal entries, or the words that Clare has written down. Italics are flashbacks/memories she has during the writing. And plain text is narrative, conversation, and anything outside of journal writing. This is meant to be read like a look at the past, or reading someone's journal, with a look at what has happened at the time to describe what is going on better.
Clare sits down in her room after a day of school at Degrassi, feeling inspired and ready to write. What she is writing is new for her. She wants to write a complete diary of her relationship with Eli.
The first thing that needs to be done is deciding where to write this, on a computer or in a journal. Clare takes a while to consider her options. The computer has more space, is easier to organize, and she can write for a longer amount of time without hand cramps. But the journal is more personal.
After debating which way would work the best, she decides on handwriting in a journal and she already had just the one. It was an old journal she picked up at a used book store. The journal, she thought, was beautiful with its lavender hardcover front and backing, with a black binding and black stings to tie it closed and no one had ever written in it or opened it, it seems. It was almost like it was meant for her and she bought it on that impulse with no plan for it, but now a plan has formulated in her head.
She gets out her black ink ball point pen and begins to write.
Introduction
You know, every relationship has to end sometime, whether it is a break up, divorce, or death. There is an end to every story. This journal is the story of my relationship, from the beginning to the end and is honest as it can be coming from only one side of this story.
This will not chronicle every trivial aspect of my relationship, just the important parts. I don't know who will read this or how it will end, it will just be. If you're not me, and you're reading this, I hope you enjoy it.
