The Only Way

Disclaimer: I said I wasn't going to place any disclaimers at the beginning of my stories and I'm not going to start now. But I forgot to mention that I have to put a disclaimer when I write song fics. So here goes: I don't own Bon Jovi's "(You want to) make a memory". It took me a hard time to find the right song to go with my story. I wanted a song that wasn't too Abby or too McGee. Hopefully I hit the nail on the head. Enjoy.

Hello again, it's you and me
Kinda always like it used to be
Sippin' wine, killin' time
Tryin' to solve life's mysteries

He ran his fingers up her body as they laid in his bed. He tucked a few strands of her black hair behind ear. He gave her a smile and she returned it.

How's your life? It's been a while
God it's good to see you smile
I see you reachin' for your keys
Lookin' for a reason not to leave

He brought his face to hers, their lips so close, yet they didn't meet. They know they won't be disturbed for the rest of the night.

If you don't know if you should stay
If you don't say what's on your mind
Baby just breathe
There's nowhere else tonight we should be

You wanna make a memory.

They are not making love. It is not a meeting between lovers and they know it. This is just sex. They are filling a void they both sensed the other had.

I dug up this old photograph
Look at all that hair we had
It's bittersweet to hear you laugh
Your phone is ringin' I don't wanna ask

He could stare into her eyes for forever if given the chance. He closed the small space between them and their lips meet at last. She places her hands behind his head as they kiss.

If you go now, I'll understand
If you stay, hey, I got a plan

You wanna make a memory?

They part for air. He can't remember a time when they made love. It had always been sex when they were dating. What he does remember is what she likes. He kisses her down to her neck; she giggles.

You wanna steal a piece of time?
You can sing the melody to me
And I could write a couple lines
You wanna make a memory?

He shouldn't be doing this with her. His feelings for her haven't completely dwindled over the years.

If you don't know if you should stay
And you don't say what's on your mind
Baby just breathe, There's nowhere else tonight we should be.

Each time, they are together like this, it is like a lash to his heart. If he shows it on his face, she will notice, so he hides it.

She warps her arms and legs around him.

You wanna make a memory?
You wanna steal a piece of time?
You can sing the melody to me
And I can write a couple lines.

He wants to say something. He wants to say those three words to her, but he doesn't. If this is the only way they can be together, then he won't object.

You wanna make a memory?

This is the only way.

You wanna make a memory?

Author's Note: I really hope you enjoy my new story. For my next story, Timothy McGee will embark on a new chapter of his life. As always I welcome reviews, not flames.
