A/N: This was inspired by the fact that originally there was going to be a scene in the Real Adventures of Jonny Quest episode Thoughtscape in which Race wanted to log in to QuestWorld to save Jessie from Surd's brainwashing but Dr. Quest ordered him to remain in the real world. Edit: Also, I am well aware in Real Adventures of JQ Benton had brown eyes... I'm sorry but to me he's always had blue eyes.

Race gently set Jessie down in one of the three QuestWorld chairs. He pressed a kiss to his daughter's forehead. "You're goin' to be okay Jessica, I promise." He whispered though he didn't even know if the unconscious brainwashed girl could hear him. Brainwashed. His little girl was brainwashed by that madman!
He should have let Johnson take that shot all those years ago. Things would have been so much easier if Surd had died that night. A dead man couldn't seek revenge. A dead man couldn't take control of virtual reality. A dead man couldn't hurt Jessie or the boys.
Dr. Quest handed one of the QuestWorld headsets to Race and the bodyguard put it on Jessie.
"Jonny and I…" Dr. Quest began picking up the other two headsets.
"No." Race growled standing to face the scientist that had become his closest friend over the years. "I'm going in."
Dr. Quest shook his head. "No."
"That's my little girl Benton!" Race spat his hands curling into fists. He wasn't sitting this one out.
"That's precisely why Surd is expecting you." Quest answered sharply. "If you log in to QuestWorld you'll be playing right into his trap."
Race hated to admit it, but Dr. Quest was right. If he logged into QuestWorld it could mean not only his death but Jessie's as well.
Race realized the tables had been turned. Benton had always trusted him to keep the boys out of trouble and bring them home safe. Now he had to give Benton that same trust.
His ice blue eyes locked on to Benton's azure ones. There was a silent promise in the scientist's eyes and Race knew Quest would do whatever was humanly possible to save Jessie.
Giving a sharp nod Race stepped away from the QuestWorld chairs.
"Don't worry Race, we'll get her back." Jonny promised as he and his father each sat in one of the remaining chairs. Then the visors activated and the protective dome-like force field shot up around the three chairs as the three were logged into QuestWorld.
