"That…. Was…. AWESOME!" I screamed as Lin set the boulders down. "I-I can't believe you just did that! I mean, you were all like 'WOOSH' and the boulders, like, flew into the air and… and it was so Cool!" I said. I was so excited about Korra getting her bending back, I couldn't control what I was saying. That was about a week ago. By now, I had gotten used to her healing every person that came. There were so many people that came to Korra, wanting their bending restored. I never realized how much Amon had really affected these people. My thoughts were swirling as Korra sat down next to me. I looked at her with a smile on my face.
"How's it going Korra?" I asked. She sighed then replied,
"Fine, I guess. I'm so tired after healing all those people." She said.
"Tough." I said. "Well, I mean, I've never done it, but… well, of course I've never done it because I don't have the 'magical powers'… not that there's anything wrong with that.. I just…. Don't have it." I said. Korra just looked at me and laughed.
"It's okay Bolin, I know what you mean." She said. I smiled and looked away, I could feel my cheeks turning red. We talked for a while longer, about Republic City, about bending, even about Water Tribe noodles. Somehow, we ended our conversation by talking about Mako.
"So." She said. "How's Mako doing?"
"Fine." I said. "How's Asami doing?"
"Good." She said. There was a silence, and that frightened me. When I was with Korra, she was hardly ever quiet.
"Bolin." She began. " I don't know how you feel, but… I really….. like you."
"I like you too, Korra." I said. It was true. The moment I saw her, I thought she was beautiful and funny. Even though that date ended so horribly…. I couldn't deny that I still had feelings for her.
"Really?" she said.
"Yeah… Really." I responded. I just looked at her, wondering what would happen next. Then, I got my answer. She leaned in and kissed me. I blinked and stared at her. Did that actually just happen? Seeing my astonishment, she said:
"I-I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me." I took her hand.
"It's okay." I said.
"But… What about Mako?" she asked.
"He…." I stopped. What about Mako? What would he think if I told him I still liked Korra? Korra stood up and looked away. "I'll see you later Bolin, I should probably get back to Tenzin." She said. I stood up and grabbed her arm. "Korra. Before you go, I want to tell you something." She looked at me and waited. "I do like you. I don't know what Mako will think, but It shouldn't matter. I'll still like you, and I hope, maybe, we could go and get some Water Tribe noodles sometime?" she smiled and turned towards me.
"Of course we can, Bolin." She said. Then She kissed my cheek and left.
