If anyone where to get inside of her head they would be surprised. For she is not what she appears to be at all. She hides behind color, wit and walls so thick that nothing gets through unless she wants it to.
She lives with guilt and with the understanding that nothing she does will ever undo the damage that was caused by her one selfish act.
So she lives with the guilt of her parents death, of the alienation of her brothers.
All because she wanted to stay out late once again, passed her curfew.
Unable to face the truth she runs and runs learning code and hiding anything to make the pain go away.
When she is finally caught she makes a deal with the powers that be and with herself.
She puts her skills to good use and helps right the wrong doing of others.
She listens to others share their pain never offering empty platitudes, for she understands all to well the paint that they feel.
Survivors come in all shapes and sizes some will move on, others never get over the guilt they carry, then there is the group that will learn to live with it.
She loves and is loved in return but not the love that touches your soul. She carries too much guilt for that.
She does not let them get close to her and when they try she gently pushes them back away from her walls and the guilt that she carries.
The guilt that is always with her.
