It had happened right after she had seen her that girl, the one who had rufus's heart.

Lily had walked out of the apartment, down the stairs, in a daze. She couldn't believe that he had found someone else. It was always the story wasn't it? One person moves on, one person fakes they moved on. Guess what one lily was? She knew she was the faker, she tried to hide it. Everymorning telling herself she was alright, she loved Bart. But they were only words.

She was walking across the street, not really seeing anything, numb. When a car came and hit her. She didn't see the car, at all. She didn't even realize she was hit until people were swarming around her saying 'are you alright' or 'the ambulance is coming.' She didn't even care, she would rather die here on a street in Brooklyn rather than have to see Rufus with her. God, she wanted to destroy her, is that wrong?

She must have passed out, since the next thing she knew she was laying down in a bed somewhere. She heard voices...

"Is she okay? Will she be okay?"

It was familiar. It wasn't Bart.

"I can't give out any personal information unless your family." The doctor replied.

"I'm her brother."

Lily knew it was a lie, she didn't have any brothers. But the doctor didn't know that. She tuned out when the doctor replied, she didn't want to know what was wrong with her. She already knew, she was finally realizing how much she loved Rufus. And how she wanted to be with him and not Bart. And how she wanted him to be with her not that girl.

She heard him approaching, then sit down. He took her hand, and gently squeezed. She opened her eyes and saw him. Rufus Humphrey.

"Your awake." He whispered.

She nodded. "So... if your my brother we did some very non-sibling like things, a few years ago." She whispered back while trying to hide the smile that was forcing itself upon her face.

He didn't try to hide it, he smiled and she noticed his cheeks turn a bit pinker. "I guess we did." He said. "How are you feeling?" He said.

"Terrible." She replied. She didn't actually feel anything...on the outside. She knew she probably had a couple broken bones, horrible brusing, and scrapes. But she didn't feel anything, besides her heart which was slowly breaking into a million pieces.

"You've been out for a couple days." He said. "Bart came back into town and then left this morning for Japan. He told Serena he'd be gone for about a month."

"Did you talk to him?" She asked. She hoped not, she knew Bart would destroy Rufus if Bart saw Rufus here. Rufus was to sweet to be destroyed by a man like Bart. There were many Bart Bass' in the world but only a couple Rufus' and she wouldn't want one less Rufus just because she had made a stupid mistake and married Bart knowing she still had feelings for Rufus.

"No. Serena told Nate, who told Vanessa, who told me."

She let out a small laugh. "Seems like you went though a lot of trouble checking up on me." She said.

"Your worth it."
