Leaving the gym around 8:00pm, Payson was happy that she had taken the time to stay after practice in order to perfect her beam routine.

Just as she was unlocking her car, she heard Sasha come up beside her,

"I'll see you tomorrow morning, have to go grab some takeout."

"Ok, and thanks so much for helping me!"

Backing out of the gym parking lot, Payson noticed Sasha right in front of her on his motorcycle. Coming up to the 4 way stop, she slowed down, waiting her turn behind Sasha.

Out of nowhere, she heard this god-awful screeching and was suddenly engulfed in swiveling lights. Getting her bearings straight, Payson squinted against the light.

Focusing in on a crumpled object on the ground, Payson realized that she knew what that piece of balled up metal was: her coach's motorcycle.

Jumping out of her car, Payson looked frantically around for any sign of Sasha.

After what felt like forever, she spotted him. 20 feet away and just laying there.

Getting a grip of herself, she sprinted over to his lifeless body, screaming at the passenger of the other vehicle to call 911.

Kneeling down, she couldn't help but let the sobs overtake her, as she begged Sasha to hold on. Blood looked like it was everywhere, more so that it was coming from his stomach. All Payson could do was hold onto him, praying that the man she secretly loved would make it.

She had been pacing in the hospital waiting room for what felt like forever, but was actually only a couple of hours. She had called her mom to tell her she had witnessed an accident and would be home after assisting the police. She wasn't ready to have her mom rush over to the hospital and try to console her, plus she knew that there was nothing her mother could do medical wise for Sasha.

After waiting a couple more minutes, a doctor came in to tell her that Sasha was expected to make a full recovery, but that they had to stitch up the large gash on his stomach and that he would have heavy bruising for a couple of weeks.

Thanking the doctor repeatedly, Payson was led to his room.

Opening the door, Payson hesitantly walked in, and immediately burst into sobs when she saw his current state.

Hearing her come in, Sasha tried to sit up.

"Pay, come here."

Walking in further, Payson was afraid to touch him, thinking she would hurt him.

"Please stop crying, Pay. I'm fine."

"You're not fine, Sasha! Look at you! I thought I had lost you. God! Do you know how lucky you are!" Saying that made Payson even more upset.

Knowing that she was right, Sasha pulled her into a hug. Even though he could never admit it, he loved the feeling of having her in his arms, it felt right.

Pulling away, Payson mumbled that she had to go tell her mom what actually happened that night.

Walking back in, Payson said, "So… guess what!"

"What?"

"My mom was slightly angry at me for not telling her the complete truth earlier, but she is now insisting on having you stay with us until you are one hundred percent better."

"Oh, Pay, really you don't have to do that."

"No Sasha, it's final. You're living with me for the next few days."

As they both sat back and waited for Kim to arrive, they both realized how potentially bad this arrangement could be due to their unknown feelings.
