Ginny had just gotten into her first year dormitory excited she decides to write in the diary she found in her belongings, most likely a gift from her mother she wrote in it.
Dear Diary
It's Tom Riddle!
"Oh my god this thing can write back." Ginny was shocked,she was write in it again until she heard a voice in her head. 'Remember Ginny, do not use object that can write back' said her inner consios which sounded like her father.
The next day she went up to Dumbledore at the staff table and said "Professor this diary can write back, I thought maybe you should look into it"
Once Dumbledore read who the diary belonged to he asked her "How did you get Voldemort's diary?"
"What?"
"This diary belonged to lord voldemort, how did you get it?" he asked calmly
"I don't know" Ginny started to form.
Dumbledore than said "Thank you ms weasley for coming to me for help, 50 points to gryffindor"
'you serious' thought snape.
"Professor what becomes of the diary"
"That is a story for another time."
Ginny then had a pretty normal first year at hogwarts and nothing bad happened to her. Dumbledore was able to use the diary to find out where the Chamber of Secrets was, had formed a team of monster hunters to go down with him, used the sword of Gryffindor and killed the monster, which was a basilisk, and destroyed the diary with it's fang. Then he went to his office to have a victory cupcake,All is well for the year.
