(February 3rd – 10:30 PM Earth time – Institute of War, Runeterra)

The big ornate doors opened, a hooded man wearing purple robes surrounded by an armored patrol crossed the entire hallway. Everyone's eyes turned to the group of people who entered the Institute, they recognized the man in between the soldiers but they also saw something else, the man with the robes was carrying a chest that seemed to emanate some form of mystical energy.

After getting to the staircase the Summoner turned to his escort before moving on ¨You did a good job bringing me here, your task is complete¨ The hooded man said with a grim voice as he turned, starting to climb the staircase

One of the guards walked to the front ¨Aren't you forgetting something?¨ the Summoner saw that the guard moved away from the group; he was wearing a different type of armor indicating that he was the leader of the pack. Grabbing his sword as a sign of intimidation he frowned ¨You hired us as an escort, and we are not leaving until-¨ the leader was cut by the Summoner who held his hand up as a signal of silence.

¨We are not discussing this again; we both agreed that the payment will be received ONCE you get back to Bilgewater, not before.¨ the hooded man gave his back to the group who left the Institute unsatisfied as he continued with his ascent

At the top of the stairs another Summoner was waiting, this one was wearing similar colored robes than the man with the chest but it had some black and white stripes, especially around the hood. ¨I can see that the expedition was a… success? ¨ The Summoner's voice trailed off after seeing that the newcomer was alone ¨I recall sending ten of you for the artifact. Ralzith, would you mind telling me what happened there? ¨ He crossed his arms, rather impatient to hear a response.

Ralzith grunted while handing the chest to the High Summoner ¨There's been some problems that I hope you understand, sir¨ They both started to walk through one of the big hallways.

¨I also remember that you were with someone else right?¨ Arlor said to his acolyte but no response was given.

They kept walking until they got to a big entrance that led to the library, the room was filled with books up to the roof, and enormous bookshelves contained the knowledge from the past times. When the two Summoners crossed the door they were greeted by a monster; its skin was black, the eyes of the beast were emanating a white glow, his mouth was not a regular one, instead it was the snout of a dog. This creature known by the Runeterrans as Nasus the Curator of the Sands, wielding a big halberd and surrounded by a metallic yellow armor kneeled before the High Summoner and Ralzith.

¨I suspect that you didn't come here for a night reading Arlor¨ The voice from the dog was intimidating, yet calm.

The old man nodded as the three of them walked into the library, Ralzith looked around at the books that were scattered on the floor, most of them were about the different City States in Runeterra, when they arrived at the other end of the room the High Summoner turned towards the champion.

¨Nasus, I need you to close the library, don't let anyone enter, we need privacy for this is important for the future of our world¨ Arlor said with a very serious tone, the curator nodded as he walked out of the library closing the door and leaving the master and his acolyte alone. . Ralzith lowered his hood revealing the face of a young man, his hair was black and short, and he preferred it to have it that way since it made him look younger. The eyes of the young one were blue, like two sapphires.

¨You wouldn't take me here unless it is something important, what's in the chest that you wanted me to look for?¨ The black haired Summoner crossed his arms.

¨All your questions will be answered soon. Be patient young one¨ Arlor turned to the wall and whispered some words but nothing happened for a few seconds, then a door was appearing in front of them ¨After you…¨ The High Summoner grinned as he looked at his acolyte walking to the inside.

The room was dark, no source of light except for the one that came from the entrance; the walls were black, it was an empty room except for something in the middle of it, a golden pedestal. Once they reached the object at the centre of the room the High Summoner gave his apprentice the chest for him to hold; Arlor opened it and withdrew a purple crystal that gave the young one a surprise

¨A crystal? We risked our lives for that piece of jewelry?!¨ The acolyte shouted at his master.

But Arlor released a small chuckle ¨This piece of jewelry as you mentioned is something that I was looking for some time now. Say Ralzith, do you know how summoning works right? ¨

¨We use summoning spheres to invoke the champions into the Fields of Justice but they must be within the range of the Institute to be teleported… ¨ The apprentice scratched his head without a clue of where Arlor was trying to point out ¨… what are you trying to tell me? ¨

¨Teleport, that's the key word¨ The High Summoner placed the purple crystal on top of the pedestal ¨I've been studying how this artifact works and it's the answer to all of our problems; with this one we will be able to summon the champions from anywhere without them being in the Institute. However there are some issues… ¨ before Ralzith was about to say anything he was cut by Arlor who raised his hand. ¨… the crystal will enhance the summoning abilities whether you are a Summoner or not; also since the artifact comes from the Void itself we don't know what will happen afterwards. But according to the reports of my experts the Void is the least of our problem¨

Ralzith's eyes widened at his master's statement ¨So you're saying that you don't know how this crystal is going to affect us? And how is the Void going to be the least of our problems? ¨

The High Summoner shook his head ¨You must understand young one, that there are many other worlds apart from ours. We believe that there might be worlds worse than the Void itself. ¨

¨So that's it? An easier method of summoning that could risk everyone's lives in the world? ¨ Ralzith sighed ¨Whatever happens, I don't want to be part of it; I've already seen enough things during the Rune Wars¨ The young Summoner turned to a wall where the door was supposed to be, he walked towards it and the gate magically appeared again.

¨Did anything happen to you back at the Void?¨ Arlor asked his acolyte who turned before leaving the room.

¨I've seen many things in there, saw other Summoners die. You think I would be fine?¨ Ralzith whispered and left the dark room, the door disappeared after it closed behind him

Without stopping his apprentice again, Arlor began channeling his power slowly. The crystal started to vibrate and began to float leaving the pedestal empty. The High Summoner started to focus even more power on the artifact, which made the crystal emanate some glow, the channeling was going so well that Arlor decided to use even more energy.

¨It's a success! I can't stop now¨ However his happiness was short, the crystal started to emanate even more energy. ¨This… can't… be… I need to reduce the power¨ His efforts were in vein, the artifact began to shatter, small cracks were visible around it until it exploded into million fragments killing the High Summoner and releasing a huge nova of energy making Arlor disappear.

(February 3rd –11:00 PM–Overlord's throne, The Void)

He saw the explosion and smiled, his plan was a success. A small portal appeared at his right, turning his head he saw Ralzith coming out of it however he was different, his eyes didn't show the regular blue, instead they were completely purple, almost dark. He was no human after all.

¨It is done, master¨ He bowed in front of the man who wore a mixture of blue and purple clothing covering his mouth; his eyes glowed with powers even greater than what Summoners could ever imagine.

This man known as Malzahar was the great overlord of the Void. ¨Good, then it is time to move¨ The overlord moved away from the map and sat on his throne ¨You should prepare my puppet. Your trip is about to begin¨ He grinned.

Soooooooooooooooooooooo, this is my first Fanfiction and wanted to throw all of my ideas into a single League story. Please understand that I'm no native English speaker and had to work with the translator the entire time so please, forgive me if there are mistakes.

I'll be glad if you could give me some reviews whether I'm going on the right path or not.

Having said that I wish you have a nice day!
