Pre-Chapter Author's Note: Hello, Sam Leonhart here. I haven't written in ages(My 'Main' story hasn't been updated in over a year now, and about 6 months for my other one), but this was my second new idea in a month, so I had to post it. So here is the beginning of my Doctor Who FanFic, Return of the Darkness.

Prologue

The Doctor, bleeding from his left shoulder where he was shot by a Sontaran Warrior, stumbled towards the TARDIS. He had been wandering the universe, as always, when he happened upon a small planetoid. However, the Sontarans had set up camp, and as soon as the Doctor walked in, opened fire on him. He managed to escape with only a bullet in his left shoulder.

As The Doctor opened up the door to the TARDIS, a Sontaran silently snuck up on his. Aiming his rifle steadily, the Sontaran got ready to fire.

"Doctor! Turn so I can end you here with honor!" he yelled, knowing killing an enemy from behind without them knowing you were there was dishonorable. The Doctor turned his head in fear, and fumbled for the key to the TARDIS in his breast pocket. As he grasped the key, the Sontaran squeezed the trigger.

The Sontaran, Warrior Rank Salzar, smiled as he heard the bullet rip through the Doctor's torso, possibly piercing a lung. As the Doctor coughed up blood, he started letting off gold dust and energy, and managed to push the door to the TARDIS open. He stumbled inside, as a grenade rolled in behind him. Noticing it, the Doctor went around to the other side of the control panel as the grenade exploded.

At that moment, the regenerative energies surrounded the Doctor. He barely got his beloved bow tie off and set it on the control panel so it wasn't lost in the regeneration. In the next moment, all was black.

Almost a second later, a new man opened his eyes for the first time. Immediately, the new Doctor did a quick check.

"Ok, hair. What's with the hair?" he ran his fingers though his now shoulder length hair. He plucked a few strands, and checked them. "It's brown. Still not a ginger, so that'll have to wait." Next he grabbed a shard of glass, and looked at his reflection in it. "Ooh, hazel. Pretty sure that's a new feature!"

He looked down to admire his clothes. He was wearing regular blue jeans, a light blue shirt, and somewhat tattered blue tennis shoes, which was odd, since he had just regenerated. "Oh. Casual. That will take time to get used to." He looked around that the surrounding TARDIS.

Oh, that grenade must've caused some damage to old Sexy," he muttered, stroking the control panel. "I'd say I have a leap or two before she needs to be repaired. So let's escape this planetoid." He deftly flipped the switches on the TARDIS's dashboard, and the signature warping sound started.

Soon, the Doctor was on his way to his favorite planet, Earth. However, something decided that the TARDIS needed an expert touch, for when he put it on auto-pilot to cool himself down; it was no longer going to Earth.

"What the-? Hey, get on course!" The Doctor said exasperatedly, grabbing his little hammer, and whacked the control panel. Nothing changed. "… Ok, at least show me where we're going."

His face paled at the location. It was familiar, but impossible. It was a red planet, several times larger then Earth. He gulped, and managed to sputter out "Co-Coordinates… 10-0-11-0-0 by 0-2… The Shining of the Seven Systems …" With that, he prepared for what might come to play.

Post-Chapter Author's Note: The Doctor has regenerated for an 11th time now. Man, he is having horrible luck. Anyway, for those who recognize that, you have found the plot. For those who don't… Well, you'll see. =w=
