Chapter 1.

The skies were light blue, the rays of light were gently streaming through the windows of the aircraft into the plane, warming the passengers who were seating in the aircraft.

The sign to fasten the seatbelts was lightend prompting the people to sit in their places. Some were talking with each other while others were using the entertainment offered on board.

Near one of the windows in the first class a young man was sitting, his long black hair was falling on the back of his black obviously expensive shirt, and his eyes were glewed to the window, as if trying to take in the enormous scapes of the skies.

In truth the man was simply deep in his thoughts, his eyes not really registrating the view in front of him.

It was then that the alarm suddenly went off, and the lights turned off, at the same time the plane took a drastic turn left.

The people in the hall fell into panic, their screams as the aircraft continued to make drastic turns and loose altitude resonated within the hall.

The boy woke up from his thoughts, his eyes narrowing as he saw the situation in the aircraft, with a sigh he unblocked his seat belt and holding to various objects made his way toward the pilot cabin.

The few people who weren't in a total panic were more than curious as to what exactly did this young man who couldn't be older than twenty was planning to do.

The man on the other hand, cursed slightly under his breath.. He was in a hurry to get to London and this was definitely not in his plans.

Finally reaching the door, which was locked the man cast a quick glance around making sure no one was watching and after confirming that he touched the door a small smile on his face. A second later a quite 'click' sound announced the unlocking of the door.

The two pilots turned around surprised by the opening of the door, but before they could say a word they felt something settling heavily on their mind.

" What is the problem?" the man asked the two older people.

" Their was a volcanic eruption... The dust had entered the engines..." the first one explained hurriedly.

The boy cursed silently " Alright then... I will deal with it.. But in the mean time you two make sure I will not be disturbed." he commanded them.

The two nodded hurriedly.

The young man touched the surface of the control panel, his eyes closing.. He felt the entire construct as he quickly used his structural grasp to understand it. When his senses reached the engines he cursed.. They were beyond repair and he was not trained enough with gradation air to replace them...

With a sigh he decided to use the last resort he still had, turning to the pilots " Where is the closest airport we can land in?" he asked and after getting the answer he nodded.

" Damn Barthomeloi.. You would are so much more suited for this" he thought annoyed.

The black haired man felt his circuits flare with prana.. So much prana that any magus would have been jealous.. But it was to be expected after all he was not just a blue blood but one from one of the oldest family's in the clock tower.

As his prana surged the air around the aircraft started to move, the currents changing with the will of the magus who's face was narrowed in concentration.

It took time.. Lowering the entire plane slowly, making sure not to move too drastically... It was taxing.. It was hard and the young boys face was enough evidence of that.. His face was pale and sweat was pouring.

It was around an hour later that the plane landed safely in the airport, to the great relief of the boy and all the passengers.

The two pilots will be sure later that the engines somehow started to work correctly even if only periodically, after which they will be rewarded with a medal and a large sum of money.

But to the young man it matterd not.. For he was in a hurry and time was really not on his side.

He was out of the plane before any one could say anything, his black eyes scanning the terminal around, finally approaching one of the many airlines tables which were scattered around.

" How may I help you sir" the man behind the desk whose dirty blonde hair was cut short looked at him with professional indifference his British accent giving more air to his professionalism.

The black haired man smiled as he took out his passport " Good day sir.. My name is Lord Julius Grey.. And I need a flight to London.. Urgently" he said authoritivly.

The man's entire demeanor changed at once, his face morphed into an expression of respect " Of course sir.. We can have you a flight arranged in two hours.. Will this satisfy you my lord?" he asked respectfully.

Julius shook his head " That's unfortunately not possible.. I need to get to London with all due haste.. Isn't there any flights going out soon? " he asked.

The man looked baffled" I am sorry my lord.. But although there is a flight out in under thirty minutes.. It is full " the man apologized.

The young lord gritted his teeth" Then ask somone to give me their llsveplace.. I will pay them as much as they want... I need to get to London "

The man looked torn.. On one side it might be a bad thing for the reputation of the airline.. But on the other hand.. Finally the man sighed" I will see what I can do my lord " he said apologetically, after which he turned on the intercom and gave several instructions to someone on the other side.

" Please sit down my lord.. We will have our answer in several moments ".

The black haired lord nodded as he took the seat, waiting impatiently.

Ten minutes later the intercom bused, and after a short word exchange the man behind the desk turned to the young lord" lord Grey .. There is somone who agreed but he asked for an absurd sum for something like that... Ten thousand pounds my lord! " the man said with a small spark of anger.. But whether it was for the man or the lord Julius wasn't sure.. Nor did he care for that matter.

" Alright... I will pay him that.. Now I have to go "he said as he opened the small suitcase which he had in his hands and counted the neccecary amount" Give it to the man... Now excuse me I have a flight to catch " and with those parting words the young lord moved away, his steps hurried.

It wasn't until he was sitting in the sit of the aircraft that he finally lost his anxiety, as his eyes closed and he drifted to the realm of dreams.

Exiting through the main gates of heathrow airport after a quick check up and talking his luggage, the young lord entered a limozin which was waiting for him outside, with the coat in arms of his family, a black raven holding a black and red sword and in the clutches of his legs a long embroidery with the words " Loyalty, Honor, Power".

As he set in the car, he was served a cold drink and a small refreshments.

" To the clock tower my lord?" the driver asked Julius with respect.

Nodding slightly, the tired magus closed his eyes as he relaxed into the comfortable chair and sipped from the cold drink, letting his tired circuits to rest, for although they could do much more it was still not easy to strain them that much.

Without noticing, he slowly drifted into sleep, and didn't awake until the chauffeur announced their arrival.

Waking up, the black haired lord looked around still drowsy, when he finally noticed where they were he woke up fully and moved out of the car.

" Please take my luggage to the mansion, have a good day Alfred" he smiled at the elderly man who served his family for longer than he was alive.

The man smiled and bowed to his lord " Thank you my lord for your kindness" he said as he entered the limo again and took off.

Julius looked at himself, making sure his clothes were pristine and in a good condition and after he was satisfied he took a deep breath and walked into the clock tower.

The place was crawling with magi, they were everywhere. Old and young, teachers and students, some enforcers were also walking the halls of the great institution, which brought a smile to the young lord.. This was home.. The stronghold of humanity, a place of learning and mystery.

He walked sturdily, every step showed his status and place in society.

Everywhere he went people stopped and either bowed or saluted him.

" It's lord Grey.. One of the greatest nobles of the tower... He also a prodigy magus" he heard one of the older students explaining to a younger one, who looked at him with awe.

Julius smiled at the young boy and inclined his head in greeting, which made the young boy to smile widely.

Truly Julius hated the attention, he liked efficiency above all.. But he had to uphold the name of the family which was extremely important for him, he held a deep respect for his ancestors and bore the name Grey with pride.

He walked until he found himself in front of an armamented door with a sign which read " Vice director".

With a sure hand the boy knocked on the door of the person who most people would have been scared to even think about, not talking about coming so bluntly. But he was not any person, and a second later he opened the door and entered.

The room was big, with expensive portraits and paintings from all over the world, and hundreds of thousands books on shelves.

In the middle of the room, a heavy oak table was standing, with hundreds of documents all over it, and behind it was sitting a woman, her long brown hair was held in a ponytail, light bezh shirt and big red ribbon on her chest.

As the door opened, the woman lifted her eyes and a smile appeared on her usually stern face as she saw who was standing there.

Lorelei got up with the smile still on her face "It is a pleasure to see you again Lord Grey" she said with a courtesy.

He bowed to her slightly "The pleasure is mine Lady Barthomeloi" he said with a smile of his own.

" Now with the unnecessary formalities out of our way.. How are you doing Julius?" the older woman asked the young lord.

" A bit tired unfortunately" he sighed " We had an aircraft incident on our way here.. I had no choice but to use wind manipulation.. But of course no one saw me" he said tiredly.

The woman looked at him weirdly for a moment before her face changed back into neutral expression "So you came for a summoning? It's good to see that even you know the hierarchy" she chuckled.

He snorted "As if I need a reminder... In any case I should really be going.. Care to accompany me? I believe that if you called me here even though you knew about the summoning then you probably want to go together" he told the girl.

" Sharp as ever.. Yes let us go.. I have some things to do there as well" she said as she got up.

"Well then.. Let us go" the black haired man said as he walked outside, the woman in tow.

The two exited the clock tower, getting a whole lot of raised eyebrows from the magi around them who moved out of the way of two of the strongest magi in the association.

Julius just continued walking, his eyes scanning the area around them. They walked some streets away, to what looked like an abandoned building, it's windows were broken and graffiti was on the walls, but the two just walked into the building, easily moving through the debris.

The walked through the destroyed hallway, and turned to the left where there stairs took them down to a basement, and at the end of the basement there was nothing but a dead end.

With a smile, the young lord took out a red and black cape from his small suitcase, with the Latin number two emblazoned on it together with an insignia of an eagle his wings spread holding embroidery with the words " Humanity ; sanguinem et animam meam"

Lorelei took one as well, with the number ten on it, the same colors and insignia.

She then moved toward a seemingly normal part of the floor and moving prana through her circuits she touched the part of the floor while muttering something.

At first nothing happened, but a second later the floor gave in revealing stairs which took them even deeper into the earth, and they were met by a heavy metal door.

This time it was Julius who aproached the door and touched it with his hand and muttered something which made the door shudder and open before the two.

They entered the underground facility, which much like the clock tower was brimming with life even though there was much less people here, the place was still full of people, old and young teachers and students. As they walked they saw people training in sword fight while others were training with their bowes and others with spears.

When they walked and the people noticed the cowls they were wearing they bowed to them and moved aside.

The two walked in the long corridors which were embroidered with different pieces of art and the same eagle with the motto, until they arrived to a cross roads, here the brown haired woman stopped.

" I will have to go from here to the other side.. I need to take care of several things.. It was good to see you Julius" she said as she turned and walked on the left side, while the Grey turned to the right side and walked forward until he arrived in front of another heavy door, emblazoned with the same insignia.

This time the boy tensed and took a deep breath before he slowly knocked on the door.

A second later the door opened, and he entered slowly his eyes scanning the room he found himself in.

It was a truly huge room, with great columns standing in a circle, and in their middle was a huge round table with thirteen chairs, each emblazoned with a number from zero to twelve.

On the seat with the number zero a man was sitting, he had a graying hair and two piercing blue eyes, his clothes were more of an armor than a cloth, with a long red and black cloack falling from his back, his armor was black with red as well.

As Julius saw the man, he bowed deeply " My lord" he spoke slowly, his voice full of respect " You summoned me?" he asked.

The man nodded and a smile broke his cold facade " It is good to see you again Julius... How was your trip?" he asked with interest.

The boy chuckled as he looked at the man who was the leader of the order and with it of the clock tower as well " Nothing worth mentioning.. I was however in a middle of an important reaserch in Germany.. Which is why I can't really understand my lord what brought you to summon me my lord" he said it with the outmost respect.

The man nodded heavily " The reaserch in Germany can be done by others as well.. But we need you as the second knight to head to Fuyuki Japan... The grail war is starting again.." the man said slowly.

The black haired man was taken aback " Already? That's unexpected.." he muttered.

" Indeed... I don't think it will be neccecary to send the knight of one.. But we need you there " he said explaining.

The young lord nodded" As you whish my lord.. I doubt there is any reason to call lord Zelretch for this... " he said, his mind wandering to the knight of one.. The man who was the strongest man in the order what with his Kaleidoscope and all.. The man who was able to slay the type moon.. King of all vampires and although battered and hurt he didn't became a vampire.. And he was still alive even after all those years.

" In any case Lord Grey you should go home.. The annual ball is tonight... I belive you and your sister will attend?" he asked.

The boy nodded " Of course my lord... I will be on my way then.. By your leave" he said as he walked outside, thinking about his younger sister who was a student in the tower.. The reaserch hand of the order even if they did not know about it bar several individuals who were also part of the order.

He walked outside, a smile on his face.. Tonight promised to be interesting.
