Why, hello! It's been a while, hasn't it? And I don't really have much at the moment, just this little flashfic thing, some silliness... But school will be ending soon, and that should make many things easier.
Pique's glare took on a flinty gleam as she stood at the side of her best friend's bed. She was not impressed in the slightest by Lilie's softly quivering pout, or how pathetic she looked with her frizzy pigtails and the blanket clutched up to her chin. The fists clenched solidly against Pique's side made that perfectly clear, and she vented her frustration in a sigh.
"Look, you need to take your medicine. You're not a little kid anymore!"
"No! I won't!" Lilie shook her head vigorously and sneezed, sending her curls into further disarray. "It's simply disgusting! I won't touch it!"
She turned her face away with a sharp little hmph. Pique felt an eyebrow twitch, very aware of the fact that she had just been snubbed. This would have to end soon.
As she struggled to think of an argument that could convince Lilie, Pique almost wished she could borrow a little of the other girl's hypocritical sadism. There was no doubt that Lilie would have shoved the medicine done anyone else's throat, just so she could fuss over them as they choked.
Oh, well. Pique would just have to find another way. For the first stage in her plan, she plucked a spoon off the nightstand and poured a dose of medicine in. In fairness to the ailing girl, it smelled so bitter that Pique could barely avoid wrinkling her nose, but she carried on, anyway.
"Okay, I know it's gross, but… isn't it worse to feel sick? Here!" She tried a placating tone, holding the spoon out.
"You just don't understand..." Lilie lamented, "It's bad enough to be so ill, but to have to face such a dreadful concoction, too... Oh, I just can't!"
There was a moment of dead silence. A sneeze. Still more silence, and some mounting tension. Pique seemed to droop, her eyes shut lightly as she marshaled her patience. Finally, she sighed again, this time with an unmistakable air of defeat. That alone was enough to make Lilie perk up slightly.
"Fine..." Pique began, sliding her eyes away from the other girl to catch her a sly peripheral view. "I guess you'll just be too sick to go see Ms. Goatette and Ms. Slothalia battle for Mr. Cat's love..."
At the news of such great intrigue, Lilie vaulted upright, gasping, "What? Where did you-"
Pique took her chance, slipping the medicine into the other girl's mouth before she could protest, and withdrew smugly. "There. Was that so bad?"
Her answer was a pillow thrown at her face.
