I got this idea while listening to What is This Feeling? And thinking about outsiders, what happens next? You guessed it: Fanfiction! Yay! It's wicked with outsiders casts. If you know my OC character than you know who will be Elphie and who will be Galinda. I hope you like my character placings (confusing: names are changed)
My name is Jazmine, I maybe just like anyone else, but from the time I was born my skin wasn't the same as everyone else's. My skin is Green. It is an odd Emerald green that caused me to be in hiding most of my childhood. My skin is Green and I am a greaser. I have a sister named Mandy, short for Mandellina. A brother named Ponyboy. Both my siblings are normal colored, only I was born green. My mother died after giving birth to Ponyboy. So we are raised by Nanny, a sweet woman who was mother's midwife and my babysitter when mother and father couldn't take care of me. Since I was five I have been taking care of my little brother and sister with Nanny. That was thirteen years ago. Today is my Eighteenth birthday. Mandy who is fifteen, gave me a dozen pink Lilies as a present, and I couldn't have been happier. Ponyboy who has just turned fourteen put a book on my bed so I'd see it when I woke up. I love my family! I helped Nanny clean up the house, and she made a big breakfast, something we didn't get often since Mother died poor and we were living off of Father's Minister pay. Nanny gave me something that brightened up my happy day even more. An application to Shiz University in the Emerald City. I was eager to sign that, I had been looking forward to college since I was thirteen. I may not have a big social reputation but I am very smart. After breakfast I sat in father's study and wrote the application essay, signed my name on the several lines, had Nanny sign her name in a few places and then I slid it into an Emerald City envelope and sealed it with a stamp. I found everyone outside enjoying the last few nice, warm days of summer. Since it didn't look like it was going to rain, I wore a ocean blue sundress and sat on the steps, watching Mandy catch butterflies and Ponyboy read a book that I got him for his fourteenth birthday. I let the sun's warm, golden rays shine on my Emerald Green arms. Nanny hummed a melody as she knitted. Eventually Mandy got tired of trying to catch the Monarch that kept fluttering away from her grasp and landing an inch or two out of her reach. I glanced at the sky, not seeing a cloud in the sky I left the shady but sunlit porch and sat on the ground with Mandy and taught her a trick about how to catch butterflies. I laid my hand on the ground and waited, the Majestic Red butterfly slowly crawled onto my finger that just luckily matched the shade of green that colored the uncut grass. I then whispered to my little sister, "lock your thumb and first finger lightly around the butterfly's left wing." she picked it up and cradled the Monarch in her hands for a minute before releasing it to fly to the flowers. There we spent the afternoon outside enjoying the last few days of summer.
Until father comes home and I can tell him about Nanny's birthday gift.
