"If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldn't jump with them, I'd be at the bottom to catch them."

It was a normal day, more like night, for Antonio, Gilbert, and Francis. They were laying across the couch of their shared home huddled together with Antonio in the middle. Francis had fallen asleep and the other two were about to. Francis and Antonio were holding empty wine glasses and Gilbert was holding an empty beer bottle.

It had been a long day for all of them and this was their time to relax. Soon, Antonio drifted off into sleep along with Gilbert, and the usually boisterous trio was quiet and at peace.

Their slumber was interrupted by a loud crash from outside. They all sat up, almost simultaniusly, and looked at each other with worried looks.

"What was that...?" Antonio whispered, slightly hiding behind the other two. Francis shrugged and patted the brunette on the shoulder reassuringly. Gilbert stood up silently and walked towards the door, grabbing one of their baseball slowly opened the door and looked around but nothing was different and nobody was out there.

"What the hell?" He said, closing the door.

"It was probably an animal or something." Francis reasoned.

"I don't care what it was,it woke me up! That was so unawesome!" Gilbert exclaimed, dropping the bat. Just then there was another crash, louder this time. "What the hell was that!"

Francis shushed him and looked out the window. "Still nothing..."

Antonio looked between his friends. "What do we do?"

"We go to sleep and ignore this bastard..." Gilbert said sitting on the couch next to Antonio. Francis looked unsure but still sat down with them, this time with Gilbert in the middle.

"Alright..." Antonio said, leaning into the pillows. "Whatever it is I hope it just goes away and stays away." Francis looked unsure about leaving it alone and he looked at his friends, now both looking as if they would fall asleep.

"Should we call the cops?" He asked, looking between the two.

Gilbert laughed."And what if it ends up being a cat or something? We would look like idiots!" Antonio nodded, but still didn't look to sure.

"I don't think it was a cat Gilbert. It sounded to large." Francis said, another crash punctuating his sentence. They were all freaked out but out of the three Antonio looked the most scared.

"We should go outside to see what it is..." The Spaniard said quietly. Gilbert got up and grabbed his bat but Francis looked skeptically at them. After awhile of thinking it through he agreed. Antonio took an old, broken medium-sized lamp from the side table and Francis just grabbed the three's discarded glasses and bottle.

Gilbert opened the door and walked outside with Antonio following after him. Francis sighed and followed them, wondering what was making the crashing noise and if it was dangerous. If so he would need something better...

His thoughts were interupted by a crashing noise outside.

"When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friends will be there."
