Yeah, umm…

Maya was running. From what, she has no idea. But whenever it gets closer, she gets a terrible feeling that makes her want to get away from it or else something bad would happen.

She knew that she couldn't run for long. She knew that one day she wouldn't be fast enough. After running for months, "it" was getting closer and closer to reaching her.

But she couldn't let that happen. She had to keep avoiding it. However, the price was her own happiness. Ever since she started running, she couldn't stop or it would catch up. The amount of stress it put on her was ginormous.

She then felt it right in front of her, and her heart pounded. She turned around and ran right before it trapped her. Once it did, there would be no escaping it. She couldn't go anywhere without having to get away from it.

It was getting bigger and bigger everyday, and everyday that passed, it would become twice as powerful.

It was already too late to get rid of it.

The only option was to run.

If it did catch her, she knew that nothing would be the way it was before, everything would change, and for the better? She had no idea.

She now knew what she was running from.

She knew how high the stakes were. She couldn't let it catch up, or she might lose the most important thing person in her life.

However, if she did let it get to her, it would mean the end of running.

Which was the better option?

This question distracted her, and it caught her, and trapped her. She felt the weight of it crushing her.

She couldn't escape now.

She desperately tried to get out of its grasp, but it was no use.

It was time for Lucas to choose between her and Riley, for real.

I know this is an overreaction, but, I just felt like writing this for some reason.
