"Come on yo,
We can't be late-o!"
Lord Bee dragged me into the hallway towards the meeting room, interrupting my contemplation. The hallway was lit brightly with blue lighting bouncing off of the white walls with bleached rims on top and bottom on both sides. I stayed quiet as we neared a dark black door that contrasted the rest of the scenery. I could hear Lord Bee hold his breath before reaching the knob, and gently pushing the door open. Inside was a short, but long round table, with all 12 seated elders, and of course, the Raikage. They were seated as if there was an argument that had been bickered about before our presence, but as Lord Bee and I entered, all was hushed.
"Hmph, Bee, so you've arrived" the Raikage rolled his tongue at the r's unpleasantly, as we took a seat on the far left, right of the Raikage, and across one of the silently berating elders with a disapproving glare.
One elder abruptly stood, sending the peace away.
"Raikage-sama, I refuse to believe we are sending both Jinchuriki to the Leaf! I refuse! We are lowering our guards here at Lightning in hope of sharing bonds with a village that cannot provide the support we may need in the close future! Not only will the Leaf be futile, but a burden, and sending two secret weapons is… is…"
"…unnecessary. Yes I've heard your worries before, Hachirou" the Raikage swept his left hand down, motioning that the elder to sit, and grudgingly, the frail man settled down back to his previous position.
"We have fully abled shinobi here in the village," the Raikage burped on, "and we cannot be too safe that both Lord Bee here, and Ren, make the trip safely, as they have each other, both having mastered the beasts inside of themselves."
Lord Bee slightly shifted at the mention of the word "beasts". I too flinched, and curled my hands into fists as a growl sounded in my mind.
Another elder spoke up, daring to challenge Raikage's decision, and his temper. "Why cannot our "able shinobi" guide Lord Bee to the Leaf? What use of this hormonal teenager when all in all they are our enemies first targets? To be outside village borders, that's their goal of capture! And us sitting here, even discussing this, if they'd see, or even hear, they'd laugh. Distasteful."
I lowered my head, pretending to not be of their presence.
"What is distasteful," the Raikage banged his fist onto the table, rattling the floor at the action as well as the table, "Is questioning, the decision made by your majority, and it's placed as order, and we still sit here, wasting time. We are indeed gathered here on topic of this, but to only confirm the decision made. I think it is only wise you apologize to the two that have accepted the idea of the venture at first glance." As so I've heard from rumors, six of the council members fully support the sending of Lord Bee and I, while six strongly opposed. It was a tie breaker, broken by the Raikage.
The elder that criticized previously tilted his head slightly in amends, visibly fuming at his response, but staying away from all eye-contact.
"Now as I continue, Bee, Ren, tomorrow sun rise you'll leave to the land of Leaf," the Raikage squinted at the rest of the elders daring for someone to make another objection, "And arrive, as soon as possible. The time of travel has not been yet calculated. But a meeting has been set for tomorrow, as you'll speak with the Hokage alone, and a later date will be set for another meeting after the Hokage speaks with the Leaf elders. This meeting is over."
