Disclaimer: I only own Zhen Chai and Feng Chai. This story is slightly different, because it's my accuracy when the Chinese came to America isn't that good, so I'm guessing.

Ch. 1 First day of School

Both Zhen and Feng were nervous as they stepped into the schoolhouse. They had just moved to Plum Creek from their home in China, because their father got a job to build the railroads. They were both fluent in English, because of their mother. She was an American, and she taught English to the Chinese that wanted to move to America.

They observed the classroom quietly, watching the other pupils hang up their dinner pails. Zhen could feel herself blush as curious eyes stared them at. The sisters looked slightly out of place when compared to their schoolmates; they had deep hazel eyes, raven hair, and pale skin with slight freckles on their noses. They were also of smaller build, which gave them a slight advantage for certain tasks. Their clothes were American style, even though they were slightly frayed. Zhen had a red wine coloured calico; Feng had a cream coloured calico.

The teacher took no notice of how different they looked as she asked them their names.

"I'm Zhen Chai- and this is my sister- Feng," Zhen faltered at their names when she heard the other's laugh.

The teacher wrote their names down in her book and assigned them seats.

"Zhen, you may sit by Laura Ingalls, Feng, you may sit by Mary Ingalls."

TBC . . .

Yeah, short and bad, I know. But, when I'm off of writer's block, I might be able to get more ideas.
