An: I do in fact own the copy rite to this material. I have received several requests now to open a category for my book series Atlantis Rising. Which you can find on Amazon Kindle as Atlantis Rising: The Prince. This is less of a fanfic and more of a character back story that will only be vaguely referenced in the book series. So sit tight and let me take you on a journey through time to learn of Kasahara's life. I am posting this here to open the category for others who wish to post fan fics.

Atlantis Rising: Kasahara

Prologue: A Bad Seed

"Get out!"
The harsh voice of the tavern owner rang like scraping metal on rocks in Kasahara's ears and he realized with a good amount of disdain that he had again fallen asleep at the inn bar. His peach wine was spilling onto the floor having knocked it over and he sighed in exasperation. He sat up, throwing the half empty cup at the man and stormed out.
'Great.'
He thought to himself as he made his way through the empty streets. Only the moon shown down onto him and in half drunk irritation he defied the laws of Atlantis, using the naturally born magic to light his way.
'I'm a knight! A palace knight! They should be begging me to stay! We're at war!'
His mind wandered into other topics until he had forgotten completely what he had been ranting about in the first place. He was in the process of stumbling back to the palace where he was sure his father was having a tantrum for his being out all night again; when he noticed something sobering. A scream pierced the air and he drew his sword, whirling around to see a figure dragging a woman into the forest. When he caught up to them the man was attempting to undress her. He tapped the man on the shoulder with the crystal blade, hovering over them with a look to kill in his eyes.
"Hey."
He watched the fear wash over the would-be rapist's face as he stood and the realization of who had caught him dawned in his eyes.
"By order of Xinadelle, king of Atlantis, you are to be taken to the palace cells. If you try to escape your punishment, I will happily kill you."
He tried to speak, however Kasahara was wise to the ways of the criminals of the area and would have none of his excuses.

He would have been lying if he said she wasn't attractive. He watched her from the corner of his eye the next morning as she entered the throne room. She knelt trembling before Xinadelle.
"My lord…"
Her voice was softer than her hair and Kasahara found himself holding his breath when he heard it. She hadn't spoken a single word until then. Perhaps if he could win her trust he could win her body as well. Now sober, he began to examine her. She was devoted to the Goddess and he understood now what the man had been trying to do. He scowled at the prisoner. It would be harder for him to seduce her now.
"This man…he…"
She couldn't seem to get the words out and Kasahara rested a hand on her shoulder.
"It's okay. I'll explain."
He looked up at his king and spoke softly.
"I witnessed the accused drag her into the woods and try to take her by force. She has very clearly come to this city to become a priestess and by taking her she would be reduced to a temple hand. I'll assume this man may have courted you once?"
She nodded, burying her face in her hands and began to sob. He smiled softly at her.
"It will be okay."
Xinadelle stood from his thrown and looked to the prisoner.
"Do you have anything to say against this?"
He shook his head.
"It's true."
Xinadelle frowned deeply.
"You will be exiled to the outer lands."
The man was taken away and Kasahara helped her to stand, looking down into her eyes for a moment.
"Please stay in the palace. I will see to it that you are safe. But I must ask, why were you out so late alone?"
She looked down.
"I was on my way to a place that I cannot disclose. It's part of my devotion to the Goddess."
He nodded, kneeling before her and kissed her hand gently.
"I swear on my honor as a palace knight, I will protect you."
Though his eyes seemed true, his motives were less than pure…
