Hey, ya'll. This is my first CSI fic, concrit welcome, reviews appreciated, flames ignored.

Discliamer: not mine, unfortunately.

'Stupid pen' thought Nick as he bent down to retrieve it for the third time in an hour. He wasn't exactly having a bad night, just not an overly good one. He was currently writing up a field report for a pretty much open-and-shut murder/suicide. As Nick was picking up his pen, he happened to glance over toward the door of the conference room he was utilizing.

Needless to say, Nick was a bit startled to see a pair of long, lean, jean-clad legs that he knew didn't belong to Sara or Catherine. With the jeans on the legs was a pair of leather boots with about a three inch heel that didn't look like much more than sticks. Intrigued, Nick sat back up in his chair, not taking his eyes off this newcomer.

All he could think was 'Wow…' The woman had a shapely figure, that happened to be covered with a Steelers jersey cut off a few inches above her belly-button, leaving a toned and tanned mid-drift showing. But, amazingly, that's not what Nick was looking at. She had very little makeup on, but what was there made her green/blue/amber eyes stand out. He wasn't sure exactly what color they were, but his best guess was green and blue with rings of amber and a few miscellaneous specks of brown. He couldn't tell how long her hair was, it was up in a bun, but from what he could see, he suddenly wanted her to take it down so he could run his hands through it.

"Hi," her soft voice broke through his reverie.

"Uh, hi, I'm uh… hold on a sec, I know the answer to this…" The woman started laughing, flashing him a glimpse of perfectly straight, pearly whites.

"Well, maybe we should start with me then. I'm Lilian," she said, holding out her hand.

Shaking it, he blurted "Nick! Yeah, that's my name, I remember now."

Lilian laughed again then appeared to be about to say something when the rest of the crew showed up. Well, the crew minus Greg, who probably had something to finish up before he could join them.

"Good, you've already met." Grissom said, motioning everyone to sit down. Once seated himself, he continued. "Everyone, this is Lilian, Lilian, this is Sara, Catherine, Warick, and I believe you've already met Nick."

"Yup, it took a minute to get his name out of him, but I'm persistent," Lilian said, winking at Nick, who started to turn red and looked away.

Just then, Greg came running in. He sat down and asked "Sorry I'm late, what'd I miss?" looking at Grissom.

"I was just introducing your replacement to everyone," Grissom said, nodding for Greg to look behind himself.

Turning, Greg saw Lilian and turned ashen-faced. "Lil…"

Smile gone from her face, an icy-cold look replacing it, she said "Greg."

The team exchanged glances, confused, and all thought the same thing. 'What happened there?'
