Chapter 1
PoV: Shiran
My older brother has been nagging me to try "The World" for as long as I can remember. Today, I decided to pick up a copy of it and give it a try, if I don't like it, I can return it I suppose. At school, I told my girlfriend, Rin, that I was going to pick up a copy of "The World" she got pretty excited. She even came to the game store with me. As I sit down at the computer I remember our plans to meet in-game tonight. Her character's name is Rina, I chuckle, as I realize that it's only one letter away from her real name. I enter the game's main menu and click the "sign up" button. I decide to name my character Shikaru, she is a heavy blade with bright green hair, a black set of armor, and a height of 5'6". She looks slightly like me, her tan skin, blue eyes and slender body matching mine. Finally, it's time for me to log on. I type in my screen name and password. I am brought to a screen showing the servers I can go on as well as the bulletin board.
I click the button that says "gamma server", I am brought to a small town with a large waterway running through it. I send Rin a message. "Hey Shi!" she replies. "Where are you hon? I'll come to you."
"I'm at the chaos gate." I reply. "can't wait to see ya!"
I remember Rin describing her character as a red-haired wavemaster. I'm slightly excited to see her, even if it's just her character. I really love her, even though she can be annoying at times. I see her approaching and run over to her. We hug and she tells me that I can come to her house in the game. We run over to the house and when she enters I immediately receive an invitation to enter. I walk inside and see a large room with a couch, a few chairs, and a window. The walls are all pink and black and I notice a set of stairs in the corner. I walk up the stairs to find a nicely furnished bedroom, complete with a bed, a chair, two windows and a lamp. I walk back down the stairs and we both sit on the couch.
"Hey Shi, why don't we go on a mission?" says Rin.
"Sure! Why not?" I reply.
We run across town back to the chaos gate. Rin enters in the low level keywords Violent, Fun, Altar. We enter the area. It is a forest area full of vines and trees. I see a gold seal in the area, I run toward it. The seal disappears and 2 small goblins appear. I use my sword to take one of them down while Rin makes quick work of the other using her magic. We run toward the entrance of what appears to be a large dungeon. We enter the foreboding entrance to the dungeon. We walk through many tunnels and battle what seems to be an endless amount of monsters until we finally reach the boss monster. I attack multiple times head on while Rin heals me and attacked at a long range. We share the dungeons loot after the battle. I get a new sword, and Rin gets some new robes. I decide to sign off, but, since tomorrow is Saturday, I'm meeting her at the restaurant for dinner. I log off and realize that it's 2:00 in the morning. I quickly dose off.
