Sorry this is rushed, but I'm supposed to be getting ready for church.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter, Remus

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

April, 1978

James Potter was bored. Remus Lupin could tell this from the way his eyes just sort of glazed over at dinner. Not towards his girlfriend, mind, but in that my-mind-is-so-far-away look that usually eventually ended in detention.

"So," Sirius Black said, shoveling steak-and-kidney pie in his mouth. "Easter's in a couple of weeks."

James and Sirius looked at each other.

Easter morning dawned bright and early for each of the professors. After a sleepless night of wondering just what the Marauders would be doing, they made their way down to the Great Hall.

Each single setting at the Staff Table had an egg in front of it. McGonagall's was covered in cats, Professor Sprout's with plants, Professor Flitwick's was covered with beater's clubs.

And Slughorn's had pineapple painted on the outside.

"Do you think we should actually try opening them?" Professor Sprout asked.

"On the count of three," said Professor Slughorn who, after all these years, still believed in the best of them.

"One!"

Each teacher placed a hand on the top of the egg.

"Two!"

Each poised to open the egg.

"Three!"

And thus exploded flowers.

The Marauders watched from a safe distance.

"You don't think they know do you?"

"POTTER! BLACK! LUPIN!" PETTIGREW!"

The Marauders ran.

And Professor McGonagall smiled.

Well, okay, there's some that swear she did, but really, who would believe that?
