A/N: I know, I know… go ahead and tell me not to do one-shots! I should finish Unthinkable, but especially The Change.. I know, I know.. it's just that this has been stuck in my head for sooo long…
Disclaimer: The characters don't belong to me! Only the plot…
I'll Try Not to Listen
Seamus tried to block his ears as he heard another scream. He had never gotten used to it, even though it had been happening for 3 months now. It'd always be the same routine with them. Personally, he didn't understand why she did allowed it. Dean was also very, very sneaky about it. Only made a move on her when Harry and Ron were out or doing something sneaky with Hermione. It was the only time they left her unprotected. The only time he could take advantage of her.
Seamus stared as his transfiguration homework as he heard the door creak open. Maybe this time if he tried hard enough to shut out their sounds, it would work. He'd just have to pretend to be stuck on why all humans can become animagi. Pretend not to be there, and you won't.
"Seamus… out!" Oh shit. He had been noticed. He would have to look at them now. Dean was in a bad mood, he could tell by his tone of voice. Maybe he had just lost a chess game? Who knows. Slowly, his head turned around to stare at the dominant leader and his girlfriend. Her vibrant red hair was now dull and more of a ginger color. She had huge pockets under her eyes, and there were a couple of scratches on her cheek. He slowly descended his eyes. Her white, normally clean blouse was torn open, her top three buttons were missing. She had red stains close to her breasts. He could catch a glimpse of her lacy flower-patterned maroon bra under her top. The bra was a pathetic attempt to cover up big, nasty-looking purple bruises. Poor, poor girl.
"Are you checking out my girl?" Dean growled as his hands let go of her collar and he made his way to Seamus's desk, roughly pushing a chair aside in the process. "Are you, henh? You think you can steal her away, don't you? You think yourself strong enough to protect her, do you? Well, I'll tell you something: she's MINE!" He yelled the latter and he was on Seamus in a heartbeat. Pining down to the ground, the stronger boy made sure his dorm mate had a black eye and bruised ribs when he finally let go of him.
"And next time, pay attention to you own things. Leave us alone." And with that, he was back to her, taking off her blouse. He looked back one last time to see Seamus staring back in shock. "I said OUT!" So Seamus scampered to the door after hearing another "No, please Dean!".
As he gently closed the door behind him, he came face to face with Percy Weasley, her brother.
"Something wrong, Finnegan?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"And next time, pay attention to your own things." A warning. A beating. Should he tell? "No, I'm fine sir." And he was off as fast as he could to go sit with Pavarti and pretend nothing had ever happened.
