The curse of kadveros
the windmill
sundrie snuck through the forest she crouched low as she pulled out a bow from her bag, and she drew back the bowstring and aimed it. with a quick thunk she killed the fear fury going quickly to retrieve its monstrous body she skinned it and put the meat and hide in her bag. "ok there we go that should last till next week she quickly ran back to her campsite and cooked and ate some. OK now time to complete the bounty. People have been hearing screams from the old windmill just outside of town. The mission is to find what's causing the screaming and silence it...
She waited till night then left to head for the windmill as she approached she started to hear the screams it sounded like the screams of someone who's dying so hurried inside to see the windmill was empty except for a large staircase down. As she descended the screams got louder and louder before finally she reached the base of the stairs and there in front of her was a boy chained down and a witch who kept casting a fire spell on his face. Roasting his flesh. She immediately drew her bow and aimed but the witch already saw her and blasted the bow out of her hands. So sundrie drew her sword as the black blade left its sheathe it sounded as if hundreds of souls were screeching like they were repulsed by the blade. The witch tried to use magic but nothing happened almost as if the power left her for the sword the instant sundrie swung the blade a blast of holy flames launched from the blade burning the witch alive. Stepping withing reach of the sword sundrie sliced the witch in two killing her.
Names?
She looked at the who was still chained down wondering what to do next.
"H-help me..." the boy manages to spit out past the blood before passing out.
"Well that's good enough for me I guess..." she then broke the chains and carried him out of the windmill to her camp. It took seven days of nursing him back to health before he woke up and when he did it became clear this isn't going to end soon as one of his eyes are clouded and white a sure sign that eyes blind the other a deep dark blue. For the next year they stayed near that windmill before one day she decided they need to go to town to find his parents
"hey scorch we need to find your parents and get you home soon" after he woke up she learned quickly he wont tell her his name, so she's just taken to calling him scorch.
"Huh what town? I assumed we were in the middle of nowhere"
" no we are actually just a little bit outside of the town of Silenthills"
"what, where's that?"
" ... what locations do you know?"
"Cursedmeadow, Blackforest, Holyswamp, Shadefall, Whitemarsh, and ... what was it called ... Scarlet ... I can't remember what it is..."
"ive never heard of any of those..."
"Hmm then should we explore and see if we can find them?"
"Hmm on one condition... you're helping me hunt, set up, and break down camp..."

the deathknight
after breaking down camp they walked into town where sundrie noticed everyone was avoiding looking at the boy. After asking around she found out that there was a deathknight looking for him.a knight with no visible body arrived in town a few months ago asking about a boy and despite the burns on his face its clear that he is who the deathknight wants. So feeling it safer to hurry along they picked up payment for silencing the screams and quickly went to leave town however as they were leaving they found their path blocked by two older men with knives.
"Say Missy how about you hand over the young man and well just let you go on by..." the man on the left said
sundrie immediately stepped forward "no I won't hand him over" scorch was silent watching to see how she reacts
"or we could just take both of you I hear dark elves have been selling for a lot on the slave market recently..." said the one on the right
to this scorch stepped in front of her as pure white flames wrapped around them " you won't touch a hair on her head ... she's more worthy of life than either of you..."
"ok ok please extinguish these flames" The one on the left said
" only if you promise never to come near us again"
"ok yes " they both said
as the flames died down the two men scattered.
" What was that?" sundrie asked surprised
"I don't know I heard a voice and suddenly I did that..." scorch sounded tired as if he just woke up
"lets hurry and get out ..." as sundrie said it a huge black knight stepped out from the shadows
"THERE YOU ARE BOY!!!" the deathknight bellowed as it started rushing towards them
"run?" scorch asked
"run" sundrie confirmed
As they ran, the deathknight followed shortly behind. After a while they noticed the deathknight disappear before reappearing right in front of them, grabbing scorch.
"I HAVE FINALLY FOUND YOU NOW FREE ME!" to this scorch replied by shooting fire at the deathknights helmet
"let him go" sundrie yelled drawing truth seeker the blade screaming as it leaves its sheathe once more
"YOU NEED TO FREE US KADVEROS SO THAT WE MAY RETURN HOME!!!" to this scorch looked at the insignia on the deathknights chest for the first time, and he smiled.
"I get it... servant of the royals release me" to this the death knight howled as its hand seemed to be forced open by an unseen force
"scorch?"
"Now you will help me find my way home then I shall release you to return to your home..."
"...yes master..."
"Scorch ? What was that?"
"That insignia is the same as the ones as the protection relics my family gives out in emergencies. I remember that... but... deathknight which was is home?"
"I don't know..." the deathknight sounded sad
"scorch what's kadveros?"
"Its ... someone whose long gone..."
