MattXMello Song Drabbles

Exactly what the title says. MattXMello drabbles inspired by songs. All have romance, but with a variety of other genres mixed in. Disclaimer: I don't own Death Note, the songs, or any characters (unless I use an OC, which I'll tell you at the beginning of the chapter if there's an OC). I suggest listening to the given song while you read each chapter. Yes, I'll tell you the song.

1. Diary of Jane

Song: "Diary of Jane" by Breaking Benjamin

Summary: Mello, upon finding out about Matt's death, starts to regret making a request for the brunette to help him.

Dammit, Mello thought. You weren't supposed to die, Matt.

The blonde glared at the small TV inside the cab of the truck.

He didn't really do anything, so why were they chasing him? He didn't hurt them, and I'm the one that has Takada, so why go after him and not me? This doesn't make sense.

Looking back at the road, Mello tried to focus on driving, but his thoughts kept wandering back to when he asked for help in the first place.

*Flashback*

"You know that Takada chick, right?" Mello asked. "The news reporter?"

Matt looked up from his DS. "Yeah, why?"

"I'm going to kidnap her, but I need your help."

*End Flashback*

Why the hell did I do that? Mello cursed himself. I had to go and drag Matt into this, and HE paid the price.

Mello pulled into the ruins of and old church and stopped.

Before I left, there was something I should have done. I should have told Matt the truth. I should have fucking told him I love him.

The blonde winced, feeling a sharp, stabbing pain in his chest. Mello knew he was going to die.

Don't worry Matt, I'll be there with you soon enough. Just wait a little longer… for… me.
