Mikasa was sitting on bed. She was looking at her scarf, her heart feeling empty. She had her arms wrapped around her legs.

Mikasa didn't want this. Mikasa didn't want this to be her cruel reality.

Eren was gone. He wasn't coming back. He never was. He wasn't going to come in like a hero and save her from the pain again.

She was alone. All alone. Without Eren, she felt so…destroyed. She knew that she should continue to live. She knew she needed to keep breathing. She wasn't going to doubt that Eren would have wanted her to live a long life.

But…her heart ached so much. She wanted to see him, hear him, feel him in her arms once again…just one last time.

But it was too late now. Now he wasn't going to come back.

"…Eren…" Mikasa cried quietly.

"Eren…"

"Eren…!"

She knew he wasn't going to reply. So why did she keep calling out…?

"Please…come back…" Mikasa sobbed, curling more into herself.

She wasn't quite sure when she would feel okay. She wasn't sure when this pain would be gone…

But then she realized…

The pain wasn't going to leave. Not when you lose somebody you love. If you lose a loved one, it's forever imprinted on your heart. She should know that already.

But she would never get used to it.

"Please…come back to me…" Mikasa begged to thin air.

And as the sun set, the only noise you could hear was the soft cries of a girl who had lost her way once again.
