Mick let out a groan as he flopped backwards on his old bed. Just one more thing Eddie had managed to take from him. Sure Patricia was never really Mick's. So he technically didn't steal her.

It's just... She could've been. But oh no, no Mick had to mess everything up all those years ago. He can't remember now where he had heard it. He can't remember why he had thought it was a good idea. At the time however it seemed brilliant. Date another girl to make the one he wanted jealous.

That's just what he did. He asked Amber out. It was all an act. All an act to hopefully get Patricia Williamson's attention. Of course it failed miserably. Instead of getting her attention, all it did was make her seem to hate him more.

He remembers the plan going into action. Knocking on Amber's door that night. The girls were all having a "girl's night" in the room Amber and Mara shared. It was the perfect chance. Ask Amber out right in front of Patricia. Make her jealous. Get her attention.

It was only eight o'clock when Mick knocked on Amber's bedroom door that night. After a fourteen year old Joy told him to come in. Asking to talk to Amber but not bothering to pull her out of the room. He didn't notice Patricia watching them. He wouldn't see her heart breaking as Amber said yes. All he could think when Amber threw her arms around him that night is his plan was just beginning. Soon enough he'd have Patricia's attention.

Instead of getting her attention, he got the opposite. She ignored him. He'd try to talk to her maybe just a question on what their homework for the night was only to be met by a cold shoulder. She didn't acknowledge him. His plan had seemingly failed.

Maybe if he had been dating her roommate instead of Amber that would capture her attention. Things were not working out between him and Amber, and recently Patricia and Mara had started rooming together. It wouldn't have been too hard to get Mara to go out with him. It was just dumping Amber that seemed to be a probably. Mick did not want to be responsible for someone's heart break.

If only he had known how much he had already broken Patricia's heart. The fact she had been crushing on him along with like every other female in the school. It killed her to see him smile and laugh with Amber. It killed her exactly the same way it was killing him now. To see her happy with someone else. To watch her smile and giggle with Eddie. Wishing so hard it was him. Just like she used to wish it was her when he had Amber or when he had Mara.

But maybe they were only meant to be missed chances.

This is not up to my standard... I just felt like I needed to post something for oneshot day and this was done for the most part..

Tomorrow I go to fair... like I wont be home till sunday night... Bleh
