A/N: This Shepard is Anya Shepard who falls for the turian we all know and love. Review if you have time please. Thank you!

It was funny because the whole incident was totally and undeniably him.

It was the middle of July- or the closest Earth months could translate in the artificial Citadel- and he comes with a plant meant for the opposite tilt of her native planet.

It was after her tenth time in the C-Sec offices, and she always, oddly, ended up being shut in his office, waiting for the parental scowling when she was extracted. So it really is quite odd when he asks her to meet him and that he would program the rapid transit to the location he was so keen to keep as theirs.

He carefully padded up behind her. Shepard's back was turned, her front facing the view overseeing the pooling lake.

And he's is getting nervous and fidgety again and he curses himself for it.

But she turns to him and smiles with dull, un-pointed pearls so unlike a turians. And he still thinks she's beautiful.

He rubs the plant between his talons, in the hand hidden behind his back, and is carefully to keep it out her view when she hugs her closest companion.

He'd pace if he could, just to think over it one more time, but then thinks that he doesn't really give a damn because a refusal shouldn't be all that painful. His mind is starting to crash again when he thinks of possibly being shot down with her bullet words.

But he still just throws his luck into the wind surrounding them.

Garrus lifts the holly over her, and sees her eyes dart up, shining when she sees the recognizable flora. The vids are flashing threw his mind again, how he practiced the force, direction, placement and time span of this Earth ceremony.

And she closes her eyes when he gets closer, feeling his skin in the closest contact they had ever shared. He strains to keep his lids open, nervous for a reaction on that oh-so-expressful human face, but his eyes are closing to. And it's unbelievable how much he is enjoying this- this human act shared with a human who is so close to him right now that his breathing is being crushed his throat every time she mummers his name in a pleasentful haze, tingling his mandible while her lips were still slanted inside his.

And he is reluctant to but does it anyway, and pulls back slowly, because he really, really needs to know if he did this wrong, and if he had just crash landed the best moment of his life. He needed to know if this step was one she could not, or would be unwilling, to follow.

And her heart swells he when he pulls back and just looks at her with the most sincere and adorable face and ask if it worked, if he did it right. If the human Christmas plant that seemed like a work of magic made his infatuation come true.

And she smiles back and doesn't give a verbal answer, only pulling Garrus back into this third-space that is only theirs', where there is silence and tranquility, and wonderful warmth on their lips, and lets him feel her answer.

And they both think, in that one moment, that they will both look ridiculous openly thanking a plant for a gift that was now theirs.
