Shopping for Shoes
(Eyeshield 21 One-shot)
Kamiya Taiga let himself get acquaint to the recognizable burst of air as he stepped onto the black, harsh carpet of his favorite shoe store. "Taiga!" called the manager's daughter from behind the counter. A smile emerged from her pink lips. "I haven't seen you in a while! I was starting to get worried!" she said. Taiga leaned against the counter, grinning, "Yeah, sorry about that! Ha, ha! I've just been busy lately… with football and all." "Oh really? Are you sure that's not the only reason?" she teased playfully. "Hmmm, I don't know... is that the only reason?" Taiga said, straightening up his back and turning way from the blonde.
"You always play mind games with me!" the girl said, shaking with frustration while watching the wolf-like teen walk to a random aisle of shoes. "...Oh! I forgot to tell you when you came in! There's a new shipment of very rare shoes in the back if you want to take a look!" the cashier called, forgetting her anger for a moment as Taiga ventured deeper into the maze of footwear.
Taiga nodded as he scanned a row of shoes, indicating that he'd heard but didn't make any sign that he would be heading to the back soon. "How peculiar… usually you would half sprint to the back of the store when I mentioned new shipments," the cashier said slowly, eyeing Taiga as he got a closer look of a pair of black Nikes. "Yeah... but this time I'm looking for a specific kind of shoe," he stated, leaving the black Nikes to look at another pair. "What kind?" the blonde asked. "The kind my boyfriend likes," Taiga said, shooting the cashier a toothy grin.
"...Boyfriend?!"
