I love you.
Those stupid three words.
Those are the three words I need to tell her.
I should do it at the training center.
She's always there.
Always.
I start to walk to the training center.
And of course, she's there.
I enter the building.
She's startled at the door closing.
She looked at me and huffed.
"Happy Birthday, Clove." I said.
"How'd you know?"
"I just know things."
I winked.
She continued to throw her beloved knifes at the targets.
"Clove." I said.
"What the hell do you want, pretty boy?"
"Ouch. Someone wake up on the wrong side of the weapons closet?"
She laughed.
"Big sixteen today."
She smiled.
"And I got these."
Her arm stretched to show new knives.
"Nice."
I put my hand on my neck.
"Why are you here, Cato?" she asks.
"To give you a birthday present."
She sighs.
I walk closer to her.
Finally she's in my reach.
"Happy Birthday, Clove."
I put my arms on her shoulders.
She looks confused.
I bent down and kissed her.
That's it.
I kissed her.
I melted into her.
And she melted back.
She dropped her knives and kissed my back.
She wrapped her arms around me.
And I grabbed her and pushed her against the wall.
Her legs wrapped around my waist.
She pulled back.
And leaned her head on the wall.
"That was a damn good birthday present."
I laughed.
I kissed her once more.
Only more gently.
"I love you."
Those three words.
I finally said them.
