A/N: I was watching some old episodes and just couldn't resist a quick and sweet moment for Stuart. Poor guy never catches a break, does he? As always, please read, review, and enjoy. :)
IF...
If she hadn't walked through the door, nothing would have changed.
If nothing had changed, he wouldn't have had to think about it.
If he'd actually taken a moment to think about it, he might have considered it a bad idea.
If he'd kept his jazz music playing and his back turned to the door, he'd have never seen her come in.
If he'd slowed down long enough to let the coffee liqueur settle a little more in his bloodstream and leave his brain a little less buzzed, his feet would never have left the mat behind the counter.
If he hadn't been so lonely, he wouldn't have had the courage to do this.
If that had been the case, he wouldn't have known that it was possible to be this close to a woman and not experience butterflies, sweat, or shaking hands.
If he had any of those, he wouldn't have been able to concentrate on how soft her lips were.
If they hadn't parted in surprise, he wouldn't have known that she tasted like spiced apples.
If he hadn't noticed that, he would have been stunned that she kissed him back.
If she hadn't kissed him back, he wouldn't have been able to marvel at how her waist fit perfectly between his palms.
If his hands hadn't found their way to the curve of her midriff, he wouldn't have discovered that she was sensitive to touch as his fingers dragged up her back.
If he hadn't trailed his fingertips against the curve of her spine, she might not have lifted her arms to twine about his neck.
If her arms hadn't risen to hold him closer, he wouldn't have been able to pull her body against him.
If he hadn't felt her pressing against him, he might have come to his senses and pulled away from the dream he must have been having.
If he had done that and subsequently realized it wasn't a dream, he would have fainted right on the spot.
And if he'd fainted, he wouldn't have gotten to kiss her again.
