A/N: I have been in a bit of a Paric mood lately, but without a new season I don't have many ideas at the moment - please feel free to send me some! :) This is loosely set around the end of season 3/start of season 4 but it could be any time frame really; the opening lines are from an ad for Suits. Hope you like!

"Can I ask you a question?"

Eric shrugged a shoulder as he took a seat behind his desk, "As long as I can ignore it."

Bill gave him a withering look, "Cute."

Eric smirked, "Thank you."

"Where's Sookie?" Bill asked bluntly, dropping all pretence of small talk.

Eric shrugged again, looking unconcerned, "How would I know?"

Bill narrowed his eyes, "Eric…"

Eric held his hands up in a gesture of innocence, "I don't know where she is," he insisted, "I'm not her keeper," he added, turning his attention to the papers on his desk.

Bill loomed over his desk menacingly, "I mean it, Eric, what have you done with her?"

Eric looked up at him steadily, "I haven't done anything with her."

"You must know where she is," Bill pressed.

Eric gave a derisive snort, "Maybe she's gone on holiday," he suggested as he picked up one of the papers and started to read it.

Bill snatched it from his hand, "I am your king," he reminded him through clenched teeth, "and you will tell me where she is."

Eric stood up and leaned on his desk so that they were eye to eye, "I'm going to say this once," he told him in a low tone, "and slowly so that even you understand: there's only one woman I keep tabs on and she's in the bar."

Eric held Bill's gaze a few seconds longer before snatching the paper back and sitting down. "I suggest you improve your surveillance if you're so concerned for her safety," he said absently as he resumed his reading.

Bill straightened with a frustrated growl and headed towards the door.

"Happy hunting," Eric called after him mockingly.

Bill shot him a dark look over his shoulder and was gone; Eric continued to read the document as he waited for Pam to come and join him. He wasn't disappointed: she let herself into his office a scant two minutes after Bill left.

"What did he want?" she asked, leaning against the doorframe.

"Sookie's gone missing," Eric replied without looking up from the paper.

"Shame," Pam sniffed, unconcerned.

Eric smirked as he looked up at her, "Bill thought I had something to do with it."

Pam raised an eyebrow and Eric gave her a look, "Which I don't," he added seriously.

"Did I say you did?" Pam asked innocently, hiding a smirk.

"I have no interest in her concerns," he assured her.

Pam looked unconvinced, "Really?" she drawled.

"You know perfectly well that there is only one woman for me," Eric told her, turning back to his papers, "and one is quite enough," he added with a teasing grin.

Pam stuck her tongue out at him and his grin widened, before he schooled his features into a mock stern expression, "Don't you have work to do?" he asked.

Pam rolled her eyes, "Slave driver," she grumbled as she left his office.

"Brat," he called after her affectionately.

He couldn't see it, but he could sense the dark look that she shot over her shoulder at his comment. He sat back in his chair with a grin as he resumed reading through his papers; what did he need Sookie for when he had his Pam?
