Chapter 1
~Samantha~
It's dark and I can easily see Evan's face. It's clouded with hurt from the words I just said. I know he' hurting now, but he won't for long. Electric piercing blue eyes, pitch black hair, skin the color of warm sand. He's drop-dead gorgeous, sweet and funny. He's just not my type anymore.
"Please, Sammy. Don't do this. I'm begging you." He pleads.
"No. I'm sorry Evan. You and I just aren't right for each other anymore." I told him.
"You're wrong. We can't be more perfect."
"That's where you're wrong. Because I'm just not in love with you anymore."
We stand there, on the sidewalk, face to face. I can see him trying to stay strong, but my words pierce his armor. For a moment, I would have sworn he was crying if it wasn't for the downpour of rain that decided to come about.
"Now are we done here? I have to go make sure my cabin is ready for inspection."
He says nothing, so I turn and get in my car. I put my black Armani shades in their case. I turn the key in the ignition and put the car in gear.
"Only for you, Liam. Only for you." I whisper as I drive off.
"Oh, my gods." Anabeth said, jaw dropping.
"What? Don't look at me that way. You know how I feel about Liam." I state.
"Yeah, yeah. I know."
"Then what?"
"I just can't believe how you could hurt Evan like that. I mean, come on. Really? Are you that cruel, and or, heartless that you would say that you don't love him t his face?"
"Hey, Anabeth, you have to be cruel to be kind."
I stand and check my watch. Flipping blonde waves over my shoulder, I look at Anabeth sitting on my bed reading her book. After eight years, it's no surprise she can predict me so well.
"Again, Sam. I know."
"Then why ask, Ana?" I check my phone and curse. "We have to go. My stylist says nails today and then try the dresses on. Then, hair and makeup tomorrow before the dance."
"Alright, Sam. Let's go."
