Author's Note: This is my fourth CSI story and I got inspiration from a Miley Cyrus song called "Bottom of the Ocean." The song, to me, was almost like a conversation. Two-thirds of the song seemed like Grissom talking and the last third was like Sara talking, hence why this story is going to be conversational. Oh, and FYI, this story takes place in Season 8, a day after Sara left. Please enjoy!

"Why, Sara? I could have helped you. I could have at least gone with you."
"I could never ask you to leave your home and plus I need to do this on my own."
"Sara, you are my home. I-I just don't understand."
"Gil, you have to understand. I didn't leave to be away from you. Please understand that."

"Gil?"

"Gil? Are you still there?"
"I asked you to marry me."
"You didn't really ask, you just stated that we should get married."
"But you still accepted."
"Honey, we can still get married, but the time is not right. I want to marry you."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive."

"I miss you, already."
"Don't say that."
"Why not?"
"Because hearing you say that will make it harder for me to do what I need to do."
"It's just gonna be hard to have you gone."
"Gil, you left me for a month last year."
"I was coming back."
"I'm coming back."
"When?"
"When I feel like I've done all I needed to do."

"Gil, please don't do this. We can't fight."

"Gil, you can do this. For as long as I've known you, you've been strong. You can do this. Just try."
"Well, Sara, when you love someone so much that it hurts, it's really hard to function without them."

Author's Note: I hope that you guys liked it. This song makes me teary eyed because it reminds me so much of Grissom and Sara. I hope Gil didn't come off too OOC. I feel that he only exposes his real feelings to Sara and can only fully admit to her everything he feels. So that's why he seems so...not Grissom. Please review!
