Kyouya had been typing on his laptop for the past forty-five minutes. The clients had been gone, and he was left to account the club's profit for the day. It must be tiring, and to consider it isn't really is job. It has been Tamaki's responsibility from the start but since he's too busy acting like a real idiot, his best friend had to carry the burden. Kyouya didn't mind much. He has been quite used to it.
Haruhi paced hurriedly in front of him, finishing the last rounds for the cleaning. The host club has left a huge mess behind and she was coerced to do it on her own.
They seemed to not mind each other. Kyouya might steal a glance or two to check if she didn't break anything that he could add up to her debt. She didn't care. She was too preoccupied to even think of turning her head.
Haruhi has been serving the host club for six months now. Her contract expired yesterday and Kyouya is yet again making another certification to make sure she's not getting away. He's definitely going to beat the soul off her.
He continued with the typing as Haruhi almost finished rearranging the tables and the chairs to their usual hiding place.
"Haruhi," he suddenly spoke, his voice low and husky. He cleared his throat while eyeing the computer screen with mixed feelings of doubt and irritation.
"Yes, senpai?" She has always been an obedient slave. She pushed the last chair in the cupboard and strode to where Kyouya sat. "What is it?"
"I would like to ask you something."
When Haruhi didn't answer, Kyouya continued, "What if your debt was completely paid off. Would you leave?"
"Ah, that would be great."
"Would you stop attending club meetings?"
"Ah, that would be great." The words ran into her ear and left through the other one. She was hungry, and craving for fatty tuna.
"Would you not visit the Third Music Room anymore?"
It was pointless to ask. Kyouya would never even drop her debt to lower than five-thousand yen. "Perhaps not. It would be a headache."
Perhaps. Tamaki and the twins has always been a headache.
Kyouya folded his laptop with a smirk.
He cleared his throat and spoke. "Let me remind you that your debt has just accumulated up to nine hundred thousand more because of the teacups you broke last time."
"That much?" Haruhi can't even remember breaking anything for the last two weeks. She has been too lucky. And careful.
"Are you questioning my calculations?" Kyouya asked with a dangerous glint on his rounded glasses. Haruhi swallowed hard and answered a no before he could strike his power Death Glare.
"You may go now."
"Uh--yes." She grabbed her things from the table and walked away. "I'll see you tomorrow, senpai."
Sometimes, Haruhi puzzles him with those smiles she aim as if they're all for free. For Kyouya, it was always different. His smiles were always reciprocated with profit.
He shrugged the thought off and watched as Haruhi disappeared behind the door.
