A young tanned boy with spiky tri coloured hair and amethyst eyes ran through a desert in the dead of the night with tears in his eyes. The desert was struck with a terrible sandstorm which stopped the boy in his tracks. He fell to the ground and passed out. He woke up later and found that the sandstorm had died down. He got up and dusted the sand off of his tunic. He realised that he must have been unconscious for quite awhile seeming it was day. He saw a black figure in the distance but it soon disappeared from his sight. He dismissed it as a mirage. "Why are you sad little one?" asked a malicious but sweet sounding voice. The boy looked around for the owner of the voice but could not see anyone. The boy assumed he was becoming delirious. He made his way towards his home. He continued to hear the voice as he went on.
"Where are you?" asked the boy. The voice laughed menacingly. The boy turned around and found a man with long black hair, red eyes, black arcane symbols under his eyes wearing black robes smirking at him. He was floating in the air. "What are you?"
"I didn't expect you to know who I am. But I know all about you Prince Atem," said the man. Atem's eyes widened. How did this creature know his name? Was he a god? "Why did you run away boy? Wait. You need not tell me. I know all about your friend Mahad," the man smirked. "Humph, and that peasant Mana," the man said smugly. Atem couldn't hold in his amazement.
"Are you a god?" he asked. The man shook his head.
"I am more powerful than Ra, Osiris and Obelisk combined. I am the darkness that overwhelms the light. I am the Magician of Black Chaos!" he shouted. Atem had never heard of such a being. To claim to be stronger than the three legendary gods was insane. The Magician noticed Atem's scepticism. "I see you need convincing. That is fine. As I mentioned earlier, I know your reason for running away. I will help you win that peasant girl's heart, and eliminate any threat. All that I ask is that you let me occupy your body. I need a host, and who better than the Prince of Egypt? Come on. Don't you want to be happy?" asked the Magician. Atem frowned.
"Okay."
This story is about Yami Yugi's dark personality from the first part of the manga coming back to haunt him. I guess it replaces the DOMA arc of the anime. The next chapter will be in modern times and the story will sometimes jump back to Ancient Egypt. It will focus on why the Magician of Black Chaos needed Atem and what Mana and Mahad have to do with Atem running away. Please review.
