Alternate Scene from the New Moon movie
Author's Note: I apologize for not posting this at first; it seems I uploaded the document without the author's note, which seemed to have created some confusion about this story. This story takes place during the scene (in the NM movie) where Bella and Alice are trying to leave Forks for Italy, but Jacob interrupts them. This is an alternate version of that scene. It's just a drabble born from a plot-bunny that I had.
"Please Bella, for me." Jacob sounded so broken when he pleaded, fingers gripped tightly around Alice's keys.
I paused, my hand halfway holding the seatbelt. I couldn't do this to him.
I let the seatbelt go, opened the door of the Mercedes, and got out, leaving the door open behind me. By the time I had reached the other side of the car he was standing up. I placed my hands on either side of his face and looked into his eyes. I couldn't tell what he was thinking, there was too much going on in his head.
"Bella, what are you doing? We need to hurry," Alice said beside me. I wasn't paying attention to her.
I kissed Jacob hard. His arms were only halfway around me when I pulled away. "I will come back for you, Jacob Black. I will come back for you. But I cannot let Edward kill himself. Don't let me be responsible for his suicide." My words and tone were asking, but this wasn't up to Jacob. I had made my choice; I would be with him if that's what he wanted, but I still had to save Edward regardless. I kissed him quickly on the lips again and said once more, "I will come back for you."
I let go of him and hurried to the other side of the car, jumping in and pulling the door closed behind me. Alice was already driving by the time I said "Let's go" and had put on my seatbelt.
I turned around in me seat just before we passed out of sight. Jacob met my eyes calmly and went up the steps to my house.
We turned the corner, and I turned back around in my seat. I smiled slightly to myself; he would be there when I got back. I wiped the smile off my face soon after, turning my concentration to the upcoming task at hand.
