The Angel and Her Knight

He looked deeply into her eyes. He couldn't help but love her. Every fiber of his being urged him that this was right, that he could love her and leave the past behind, a past full of pain and misery. Now that she was in his arms everything was okay. She was the light he needed so much in the time of darkness.

Ever since his sister had disappeared he was left with no one. He had sworn to keep to himself, never to let anyone get close to him again. He had declared that he didn't need anyone, and that he was fine. When he met Riona he knew it was not true. He finally understood that all human beings needed to know that they are wanted and loved. With Riona in his arms he felt that he could take on anything, so long as she was by his side until eternity. She was his angel. And I her knight. He thought as Riona closed her eyes and leaned her head on his shoulder.

The sea washed up gently on the shore as the couple embraced…

Riona looked out at the sea as she still held Squall. Funny isn't it She thought. How the sea can bring the most horrible of tragedies and still manage to offer the most wonderful of memories. She loved the way his deep dark eyes would just stare into hers and she would feel as if she knew exactly what he is thinking. He and I are one she thought. He is my knight and I his angel. She faintly smiled at the thought of Squall coming to protect her on a white horse. She leaned her head on his shoulder. I feel so safe in your arms Squall, thought Riona. Nothing can go wrong when I am with you. She closed her eyes, just content with being in Squall's arms, hearing the caressing, faint whispers of the sea.
