I have been publishing stories nonstop to be a beta. Here is finally my fifth. MUAHAHAHA! It's JamesxLily, BTW.
Quidditch. I never could see how people got so worked up over it. It was basically throwing and catching balls over and over, 20 feet off the ground. But here, in the stands watching James as he shot around the pitch, I too was enthralled by the game. I was enthralled by the seeker. How could he have been such a git just last year? How was he so desirable now? Suddenly a cheer rose from the stands. What had happened? But then I saw the flash of gold, reflected in his glasses as he held up the snitch. Griffindor had won! As the team landed, I rushed onto the pitch.
"That was amazing! You fly really well!" I shout.
"You're just realizing that now, Evans?" He asks, still a bit pompous, but no matter. I grin at him, and he grins back.
"You look beautiful, Evans. Red and gold suit you" He smiles, and I can't help noticing his beautiful hazel eyes. From off the pitch, Alyssa is calling me.
"LILY! LILY, COME ON! WE'LL BE LATE FOR CHARMS CLUB!" She yells. I blush. But I remember the scrap of parchment I have in the pocket of my robes. Taking it out, I hand it to James, and then rush off the pitch. I hope he likes it. It took me hours.
At breakfast the next day, I find out. As he walks by me with his friends, he smiles and hands me a slip of parchment. I open it. It is a drawing of my eyes, sea-green with flecks of a darker green. Just like the one I drew of his own eyes. Scrawled on the bottom is a note. It reads, A drawing of the most beautiful things in the world. Hogsmead trip tomorrow. I'll be in Zonko's at 3. Come and see me. I'll be waiting. And in that moment, James is no longer pompous, no longer the rude little boy from last year. He is my knight in shining armor.
I can't wait for tomorrow.
