A/N: This is another challenge fic. As usual, it's SLASH! So don't like then don't read. This is my first attempt at Sevremus (Severus/Remus), so I'd appreciate some reviews….please? Also, this takes place in Harry's 3rd year so…yeah that's it! Oneshot! My prompts are bolded by the way: just thought I'd let you know.
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter. If I did the whole series would probably be one big slash marathon. XD
The Confession
Severus couldn't believe that Remus Lupin of all people was going to be the new DADA teacher this year. It was bad enough that he'd had more than a crush on the man back in their school years, and now, seeing him again, Severus realized the feelings had yet to go away.
"Afternoon, Severus," Remus smiled as he took his seat at the staff table for lunch.
Severus simply nodded in return, not wanting the man to start getting any ideas that he, Severus Snape, was going soft, and that Remus of all people was the only one who seemed to trigger that weakness in him.
Remus looked down glumly. He'd always had a bit of a schoolboy crush on Severus in their younger years, but lately he was beginning to wonder if it was more than that. Though, he was almost positive the dark-robed, slightly frightening Potions Master didn't feel the same.
As the year went by, Remus was seeing more of Severus because of the Wolfsbane he needed to take every month. To be honest, he'd never known Severus would be kind enough to even consider offering to help him with his 'problem.' But help him he had, and for that, Remus was extremely grateful and always made sure to thank Severus profusely for his help.
"Don't mention it, Lupin," Severus would often reply quietly.
It was coming very close to Valentine's Day, and finally Remus had worked up the courage to tell the dark-haired man exactly how he felt for him.
"Severus!" he called as he followed him out of the Great Hall that evening.
"Lupin?" Severus raised a perfectly arched eyebrow.
"There's something I have to confess to you, Severus," Remus sighed.
"Well, go on."
"Severus, I'm just going to be blunt here: I'm in love with you. I have been ever since our 1st year together; it's been an endless love that I at first thought to be a simple crush, but now I'm not so sure anymore. I truly hope you might be able to feel the same way, but I know better than to expect that from a man such as yourself. I simply had to let you know," and with that, he pulled out a crimson red rose that he'd bought in Hogsmeade and handed it over to the other man.
Severus, for his part, stood there incomplete shock. Was the love of his life really asking him whether he felt the same way? Not knowing how else to respond, he pulled the mousy-haired man into a deep, loving kiss.
And that kiss was all Remus needed to know that Severus felt exactly the same way.
