Prologue
I was n e v e r superstitious, not really. But some part of this ludicrous tale is suddenly starting to make sense.
As soon as those w o r d s left her lips, I had some sense to what the f u t u r e h o l d s.
He was strong, safe, dependable. A shoulder to cry on. A hand to hold.
But he was... something else. He brought m y s t e r y and d a n g e r to my life.
He was always there. My best friend by day.
But my secret by night.
No one expected anything; but w h y should they?
We gave up that fantasy a long time ago...
But we put the pieces back together, knocked down the barrier between us, brick by boring brick.
The way he touched me, the way his eyes seared through me in that intensely, longing manner. We craved each other, lusted for each other's lips.
But I had him, and we were happy in each other's arms.
But he cheated. He went behind my back, but pretending that nothing was ever wrong. But we stayed together because it was the sensible thing to do. For our careers, for our families.
And he had his flings. Something to keep him entertained. I watched them all come and go.
But I wanted something spontaneous. Something to dream about. And so did he.
I always dreamt about love. To be the princess. But I never thought my love story would turn out this way.
He always dreamt about love. He'd sweep her off her feet. For her to be beautiful. Now I know that, that means, blonde, big eyes, great legs.
He neverdreamt about love. He had what he wanted; a career, thousands of girls lusting for him. But he never thought his love story would turn out this way.
But now we're stuck in between the c r o s s r o a d s, and there's no way of getting out.

I had deleted my previous stories What Happened In Hollywood and Life Changing because I couldn't find any inspiration for it. Sorry if I disappointed any of you people out there!
