"Niles, you need to pull yourself together man."
"Oh, leave off, Frasier. It's not your decision to make. You are not me. I am. And I will make my own decisions," Niles replied angrily. He had allowed his brother to push him around too long… It was his life and he wanted to live it. The way that he wanted.
"Maris might as well have you on her knees before her. You can't go running back to her. She has betrayed you, in the most demeaning way. She had an affair with another man! And you're just going to run back to her when she tells you she'll have you back? Like some sort of slave!"
"Frasier, stop telling me how to live my life!"
"I'm not telling you, Niles. I am trying to advise you. I'm trying to get you to do the right thing!"
"The right thing in your mind. It is my decision and I WILL MAKE IT!"
An uncomfortable silence edged into the room. The 2 brothers stared at each other across the elder's apartment. They may have looked reasonably alike and they may have been close, but they had grown to be 2 completely different people.
"What's all the shouting about?" Daphne asked as she walked into the living space of Frasier's apartment.
She saw the two brothers staring in enmity across the room at each other. She had never seen them like this before. She had asked what it was about upon entering the room, but the question was redundant as she could here easily from the kitchen it was about Mrs. Crane.
"Daphne, could you give us a minute," Frasier asked, he didn't look away from Niles as he spoke to her.
"No. You know what, don't bother…" Niles said in a calm voice but still, he somehow sounded irritated. He began to make his way towards the door.
"NILES! DON'T WALK OUT OF HERE! NOT NOW!" Frasier shouted. Niles stopped short of the door but did not turn. He just stood stock still staring at his feet. There was another silence in the room. Daphne stood, bewildered in the doorway between the kitchen and the living space.
"Personally I think it's the perfect time…" Niles said without looking round at his brother.
Without another word between the two, Niles exited the door of Frasier's apartment, and wasn't going to return for a long time.
Just an argumentative drabble on what it would be like if Frasier and Niles had a really serious argument. Please, please review; even one word will do although I would like more, if you're a first time reviewer PLEASE just do it! It's so simple. Please!
