Somewhere In The Stands
He waited as she paced in front of him, her arms crossed at her chest. She had an angry confused look on her face. He concluded hurt when she finally looked at him. "Memphis…"
"I know."
"Are you mad?" Mark asked looking down at the floor.
"About what exactly?"
"About me leaving… about everything?"
"I could never be mad at you for fulfilling your dreams… you pushing me out of your life to achieve it… that pisses me off. But mainly I'm hurt… that you would think that I would hold you back… that with me you couldn't achieve your dreams. That lack of faith you have in me hurts."
Mark shoulders visibly slumped as she packed a bag. "I'll get the rest of my stuff when your gone."
He sat in silence until Memphis was done, Mark looked up as she walked towards the door. "Memphis it's not about you not being able to help. I just don't want to force you to wait for me while I go off to fulfill my dream… and you just sit here."
"I would have loved to be the one that decided whether I wanted to wait or not." Memphis said before walking out the door leaving Mark sitting in an empty apartment.
"Johnson… Johnson." Mark looked up to see Coach Patrick standing above him.
"You might want to get out on the ice… there's a game about to start."
Mark looked around to see a semi empty locker room as what was left of the players walked out. He chuckled and got up, he was about to grab his helmet when Coach Patrick handed him a folded piece of paper.
"What's this?" Mark asked opening the paper. Coach Patrick just shrugged and walked out. "E-15. What the hell does that mean?" Confused Mark grabbed his equipment and head out to the ice.
Mark sat on the bench trying to keep his mind on the game going on in front of him. But the guys next to him keep commenting on the girls in the crowd. He laughed, shaking his head at them, he then looked at the section in front of him.
"E-15." He whispered to himself. His eyes darted around landing on section. He counted the rows and slowly his eyes scanned the crowd. They landed on her, as she sat smiling down at him.
