This is my first attempt at a Hunger Games fan fic, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm still in the process of reading the book, so please bear with me ^-^

It was late on a school night, and I couldn't sleep. This was sadly normal for me, so as usual, I decided to read. I was currently about halfway through the first book in my favorite series, The Hunger Games. The corners frayed, the spine tearing, and pages taped back in, I began to read.
God knows how long later, I heard my mothers harsh footsteps trudging up the old wooden stairs in our simple two story town house. Quickly closed my book, shoving my bookmark in lazily in the process, and shoved it under my pillow. I threw my body around to be facing the wall just as I heard my door creek open.
I felt my mothers eyes on my for a few seconds, checking up on me, "Blythe?" She whispered. I didn't reply. Before long, I heard the door creek shut again and saw the glow of the hallway light disappear from the wall above my bed.. I turned back over and propped my head up on my arm, looking at my alarm clock on my bedside table. 3:26 A.M. I sighed.
I had been reading for four hours. Completely forgetting about the book under my pillow, I set my head on my pillow and willed myself to sleep.
I was in the woods. It was a foggy day, but I could see animals around me. There where birds, rabbits, deer, squirrels, and many more. I walked along the dead leaves and dirt, bare foot, my hands gently resting on the dew covered trees as I passed them. This place looked somehow familiar... Had I been here before? No... No, this was just somewhere I knew, but I couldn't remember where from. Where ever I was, I felt at peace.
My vision of peace was shattered by a low growl from behind me. I turned slowly, my eyes widening at the sight of a large bear. I know you're not supposed to run, but my brain wasn't responding to my thoughts. I turned and ran,as fast as I could. I didn't bother looking back. I ran for a long time. I started to feel fatigued, and my vision was getting cloudy. I could barley see. I felt a sudden pain on my forehead and fell onto my back. A low branch? Probably... Then everything went black.
