Author's Note: Hi all! Here's a small Draco/Luna one-shot fic for ya'. This is more of a friendship story, not an actual ship. This is set in the scene where Luna is feeding the thestrals. This is a somewhat pre-established friendship, because it involves an extremely OOC Draco. Enjoy…

Luna's bare feet crunched in the leaves. Silently, she cursed the people who had taken them. They were freezing cold, but she tried desperately to ignore them. Her silvery blonde hair fluttered slightly in the gentle breeze. She heard leaves and twigs snapping behind her.

"Hello, Harry Potter," she whispered, expecting the angsty brunette boy to come up next to her.

"Nope, sorry Looney, it's just Draco Malfoy," he grinned. Luna turned around, a bright smile on her face.

"Hello, Draco," she spoke, her voice light and airy. Draco couldn't help the small smile that graced his lips when he heard her voice. He had changed. A lot. Changed to the point where the smallest things caused him to crack a grin, or to laugh out loud. He had changed when he met Luna.

Luna had altered the way he thought about the world. Before even knowing that she existed, Draco looked upon everything with a scorn or with disdain, especially that filthy Mudblood Granger and her boyfriend Ron "Weaselby".

But now that he knew her, and I mean, really knew her, he began to accept the fact that not everything needed to be hated. Especially himself. Sure, he'd had Crabbe and Goyle, and let's not forget Pansy, but when he was with Luna, he felt for the first time what it was like to be appreciated.

"Luna, do you know what today is?" he asked.

"What?" she asked obliviously, chucking a slab of meat towards a baby thestral.

"It's our friendship anniversary," he said, a bit taken aback that she hadn't remembered. The minute the words escaped his lips, he regretted sounding like a clingy girlfriend.

"I remember, Draco. Don't worry. Happy 'friend-a-versary'," she chuckled. Draco tapped her on the shoulder. She turned and saw a small box wrapped in silver paper, complete with a small white bow.

"Oh, Draco, I-I didn't get you a gift," she said, her voice filled with sadness.

"It's alright Luna. Your friendship is gift enough," he said sincerely. She held the small box in her palm.

"Go on then. Open it," Draco prodded, a small grin on his face.

"Alright, alright, no need to be so hasty," she smiled. She gently pulled at the creases of the silver paper. She removed the lid off the box and gasped when she saw what was inside.

"Draco," she muttered, lifting the necklace out of the box. Hanging off of the silver chain was a stone raven. Luna turned it in her fingers. The light reflected off of it.

"Draco, thank you," she said with as much sincerity as she could muster. He removed it from her hands and clasped it around her neck. He stepped back to admire it.

"You look great," he smiled.

"Thank you so much," she said giddily, stepping forward to give him a hug. Draco accepted his best friend in his arms.

"You are so welcome, Luna."
