Running through the woods was exhilarating. My body had never felt better… I would say healthier, but well- I'm dead. Farther behind me, I could hear Bella sprinting swiftly, chasing me, just as the rest of the coven were chasing each other. Green, brown, gold… all of it rushed and twirled and moved passed me. It really was exhilarating. I leaped over a fallen log, trying to outlast the fastest runner- besides myself- in our coven. My 'breath' halted suddenly as I came into a clearing.

Fuck me, sideways, downtown, on the bench, that hurt like a bitch. I groaned, feeling something hard and pointy pressing into my ribs. My hair flooded my face, somehow getting out of its restraints. I groaned again and rolled over, pushing myself to my knees as I observed my new surroundings.

Fucking demons. Where the hell is Izzy? Or Alec and Jace for that matter? I huffed as I glanced around the clearing I found myself in. Green, green, green. That's all I saw. That's all there seemed to be. A sharp pain in my neck brought me back to the reason I was lost.

Damn that demon. I hissed, pressing solid hand to the bleeding wound. Ravenor demons were the absolute worst. Poisonous and vicious and just as ugly as their name suggests. Luckily it was now burning in its hellish dimension.

I jerked my head to the left as hissing and clicking reached my ears- a hydra demon- rough, low growls

Damn. The demon had just gotten past my defenses. Where the hell was Izzy?

More specifically, where was the group anyway. Izzy, Simon, Jace and Alec had come with me, but now they were M.I.A and I was here, fighting both a Dahak and a fucking Hydra demon. With my training I could easily defeat them, but back up would be appreciated.

"I'm so done with today." I groaned, silently seething and wishing that the rest of my group were here that way I could 1) Slap the shit out of Jace and Simon for leaving me, 2) Bitch at all four of them, and 3) Draw a portal and send them back to New York while I deal with the fucking demons that were abusing the small town.

"Adonael," I called, holding out a seraph blade. It blazed to life in my hands and I quickly slashed at the Dahak demon, making it back away. Icor bit at my hand and wrist. Ignoring the pain, I jumped back away from the striking Hydra demon and stabbed at the Dahak again, this time placing my blade all the way through its scaly body. Hearing the hissing coming closer and feeling the air distort around me, I ducked just in time to feel one of the Hydra's heads move above me, its jaw snapping shut around nothing. I gasped and moved my blade upwards, slicing of its head, before flipping up into a standing position and conjuring another blade.

"Cassiel." I dodged another head and went in between the remaining two, stabbing my blades into their black hearts. The demon squealed and exploded, burning its way back to its own dimension. I fell on my ass, panting and simply exhausted, my body burning and my heart racing.

And then I heard the bushes rustle in front of me.

I glanced up, through my fiery red curls, my hands braced on my knees, as a man jumped out of the woods and stopped dead in his tracks. He was unnaturally attractive with bronze brown hair, hazel eyes that were wide in surprise, and pale sparkling skin. What the..?

I breathed in through my nose, trying to catch his scent, and frowned. Blood. Vampire. I stood up immediately and opened my mouth to speak… Only to be on the receiving side of a Ravenor tackling me to the ground. Great. Great day you're having, eh, Clary?

I jumped past the trees and into the clearing, expecting to find Bella, but instead I found a woman with fire red hair sitting down in a puddle of steaming black liquid. It smelled retched, all metallic and bitter and utterly dark. Like Death. She was tense too; her lithe muscles locked together, in a flight or fight position. And then she looked up. Striking green eyes pierced my own gold and narrowed. Her expression one part confusion and one part serious and one part mildly surprised. She stood up abruptly and opened her mouth to speak when something tackled her from the side. Big and scaly with a wicked looking exoskeleton and a long tail with a scorpion-ish tip.

"Gavreel!" The woman yelled out and a shining blade of silver goodness appeared in her hand. She pushed the beast off of her and rolled onto her knees, stabbing down with her blade; her blade was protruding from its head. It went limp for a moment, and then burst open, splashing inky blackness all over the girl and on the ground. I froze as I watched it disappear suddenly.

The redhead stood up and grimaced at herself, before looking at me, her eyes still narrow and cautious. And then, her form wavered and evaporated. I gasped silently. To my left, I heard the trees rustling and saw Bella out of the corner of my eye, but I was still frozen to my spot, staring at where the fire girl was. I just… In all the years I had lived, I had never seen anything like that. Bella placed her hand on my shoulder and I looked at her, so confused and so curious.

What was going on? Who the hell was that and what the hell was she fighting?
