It was winter and he, Naruto Uzumaki, hated it.
Winter was too dull for him. Sure he loved to play with the snow, a childish side of him would always appreciate a good snow ball fight with his best friends in college. He loved snow but he hated winter—and no one or nothing, yet, could change that.
There was nothing much he could do during the winter. He hated the itchy scarf around his neck though he would never complain about it in front of his long term girlfriend. The itchy scarf was a handmade Christmas gift from her and though he hated the itchiness, Naruto loved Sakura too much—or scared of her too much whichever you chose to believe—to tell her that the scarf practically killed him with the itchiness and that it gave him red marks more than she ever did.
Another reason why he hated winter was that he got chapped lips due to the dry weather. It was hurt and thanks to the chapped lips, his beautiful goddess wouldn't kiss him.
"No… Your lips…" Sakura turned around when he tried to kiss her that evening when they both sat on the couch in front of TV watching some TV show, "Wear some lipbalm!"
The yellow headed guy pouted, "Lipbalm is so gay!"
Sakura smiled and tapped his nose with her index finger as if telling him to wait for a moment before she started digging on her purse to find something. Naruto, with a pout and scowl on his face , waited for the girl he loved to get what she was looking for.
Naruto groaned when Sakura pulled out a pink lipbalm tube and grinned at him.
"Saku…"
"Oh c'mon, it's cherry!" she giggled when she saw the scowl got deeper.
She used her index finger to get some balm. He moved away a little as she moved closer with a pointed finger trying to apply the cherry lipbalm to the panicking boy.
"I don't want to!"
"Are you sure?"
"I don't want!"
Oh yeah, he hated winter! He hated the entire stupid things related to winter. He hated this chapped lips. He hated THAT stupid lipbalm.
Sakura sighed, "Fine."
Naruto was about to sigh in relief when Sakura applied the lipbalm on her own moist lips. Naruto narrowed his blue eyes.
"What are—"
Before he could finish his word, Sakura had encircled her slender arms around his neck and pulled him toward her face. She kissed him on the lips for few seconds before pulled away with a wide grin on her beautiful face.
"Oh, wow." He could smell and taste the Cherry flavor on his lips.
"Wearing some lipbalm was not so gay right?"
He licked his now moist lips and smirked, "I don't know… Let me try once again…"
Sakura giggled as she let him kissed her for the second time.
Winter was not so bad.
Hell yeah it was.
